Concept as conjunction —— The designs of legendary French designer Philippe Starck could be considered a conjunction–an ‘and’, a ‘but’… a stoppage point and also a continuation along the road to the discovery of something new. Marcel Duchamp, with works like his establishment-challenging ‘Fountain’, was initially rejected by his contemporaries, yet today he is considered one of the world’s most influential art figures. The lesson? Defy tradition, challenge the status quo, and always remember, in craziness lies genius.

Golden Pin Concept Design Award unveils Aaron Nieh-designed poster to mark opening of 2017 call for entries
海報打破傳統垂直與水平的框架，以不規則曲線呈現，並搭上充滿想像的文案，為獎項注入耳目一新的形象。
The poster features subtle references to the revolutionary work of artist Marcel Duchamp and industrial designer Philippe Starck, and targets new generation designers.
總是不斷挑戰自己的聶永真表示，「一個夠瘋狂的設計師，看到的點、線、面或空間是不一樣的。例如我們看到一個平面的東西，可能從他的眼中是變形的。我也會希望看到海報的人，反思既有的觀看方式，其實可以有一點反常。」
Themed around the phrase, “In craziness lies genius,” Nieh encourages entrants to pursue original ideas that will influence the future direction of design. The off-center die-cut shape of the poster also reflects this idea.

also連接詞 在 [文法] 準連接詞howerver不接名詞? - 看板Eng-Class 的八卦
原PO看的文法書中，他將連接詞分為兩類
一類為對等連接詞、另一類為從屬連接詞
此外還有比較特別的一類是有連接詞功能的"副詞"，他們稱之為準連接詞
其中表"累積"的準連接詞有這些
besides (in addition) moreover furthermore
(what is more) likewise also
由於準連接詞實際上是副詞 所以只能連接子句 不能接片語或單字
但做到下列題目時 問題來了
▁▁▁ his own money, he also invested all of his parents' savings in the
stock market. (a)Beside (b)Besides (c)Moreover (d)In addition
答案給(b) 看句意 只接選Besides沒問題 但書中剛提到準連接詞不能接片語或單字
那這題不就是準連接詞接單字嗎? 所以上述那些準連接詞究竟能不能接單字或片語?
還有一題是
He ▁▁▁▁ he took a nap before starting to work again. （選錯誤選項）
(a)ate a good meal; then
(b)ate a good meal, then
(c)ate a good meal, and then
(d)ate a good meal. Then 答案給(b)
原PO將He ate a good meal 和 he took a nap......agian 視為兩句
所以中間要有連接詞做連接
(a)有分號 不需連接詞 (c)有逗號 所以要有連接詞連接
(d)直接打句點 Then開頭寫另一句 (b)錯在哪?原PO查了一下then也有連接詞的功能
還有一個問題是標點符號的應用
我的想法是對等連接詞可以連接單字、片語或子句
所以只要有對等連接詞就天下無敵，毋須打上任何標點符號
而分號有點像連接詞的功能 打上分號後 後面的句子毋須接連接詞
He stayed up last night, so he can kept dozing off today.
so前面不打逗號直接對等連接兩個子句 這樣ok嗎?
還有剛剛提到的準連接詞 因為是副詞 所以無法直接連接兩個句子
例如It's too cold to swim; besides, I have a cold.
那把besides後面的逗號拿掉呢? 變It's too cold to swim; besides I have a cold.
我的想法是有分號了所以besides直接接I have a cold
而若是swim後打逗號 那麼就需要有連接詞 但bisides不是連接詞
所以就在besides後面也打上逗號隔開
所以變成It's too cold to swim, besides, I have a cold.

所以剛好有逗號到底要不要點的疑問
還是有爭議的題目不會考?
