1/9: DANCE

3 eight counts is my limit per class. It’s like my brain and body cant handle more than that.

My journey with dance hasnt gotten easier. And i’m still only mediocre at best, but i fuggin love dance.

On certain days, it’s saved my life. It’s a great workout and for the hour and half i’m in the studio, i focus on the steps, instead of on the many little things chipping away at my sanity.

Thank you to my amazing choreographer/friend/teacher @heiheifai and @a_li_ve dance studio for their continuous love and support!

呢14年喺公司一直好想跳一次非洲舞，但係冇緣份，去到今次盛舞者嘅決賽，可以陪伴Anisha構思成個畫面，加入傳統非洲鼓手，呈現一個Afrobeats + Tradition Afro dance performance, 現場睇真係冇得頂！

Anisha @anishathai thank you for always giving so much joy and enthusiasm to all the people around you. Your energy is contagious! 😆😆😆 and even though you are not strong in battle, you took the extra time and energy to train and you did a kickass job! Thanks for showing us that a POWERFUL and CONFIDENT woman is strong and beautiful in her own special way!!! You are an inspiration to women, black/Asian women and to all the little girls out there who are chasing their dreams, yes it can come true with determination , passion and a lot of hard work! This is one of the two songs I did on my (first) trip to America. I did this with my team in LA, they are the most amazing and nicest people I've ever met hehe! :) We sat down and started out with just a sample and some piano lines. We experimented alot until we got the beat first, then the melody and so on. And its amazing how we started out from scratch and made it into a song.
I find this song to be something that everyone can relate to, including myself because when we were thinking of the song title I was kinda thinking about how everyone's running, chasing after something, just like in a race. And in a race you (obviously) have to cross the finish line to win. So I thought, why not have a song called finish line? Because everyone's running for a prize. And well, some times there's only one prize, and all kinds of things just try to put you down. But through this song I wanted to tell whoever's listening to not lose focus. I want to encourage you not to give up and keep running... so, run so you may obtain your prize. :)
Dies ist einer der beiden Songs, die ich auf meiner (ersten) Reise nach Amerika gemacht habe. Ich habe das mit meinem Team in LA gemacht, sie sind die erstaunlichsten und nettesten Menschen, die ich je getroffen habe! :) Wir setzten uns hin und begannen mit einer Probe und einigen Klavierlinien. Wir experimentierten viel, bis wir zuerst den Beat, dann die Melodie und so weiter bekamen. Und es ist erstaunlich, wie wir von Grund auf neu angefangen haben und es zu einem Song gemacht haben.
Ich finde, dass dieser Song etwas ist, mit dem sich jeder identifizieren kann, einschließlich mir selbst, denn als wir an den Songtitel dachten, dachte ich irgendwie darüber nach, wie jeder läuft und etwas jagt, genau wie in einem Rennen. Und in einem Rennen muss man (offensichtlich) die Ziellinie überqueren, um zu gewinnen. Also dachte ich, warum nicht einen Song namens Finish Line haben? Weil jeder um einen Preis kandidiert. Und manchmal gibt es nur einen Preis, und alle möglichen Dinge versuchen einfach, dich niederzumachen. Aber durch dieses Lied wollte ich sagen, wer auch immer zuhört, um nicht den Fokus zu verlieren. Ich möchte dich ermutigen, nicht aufzugeben und weiter zu laufen.... also laufe, damit du deinen Preis bekommst.... :)

The “Ghen Co Vy” project, includes the song in Vietnamese/ English, the handwashing dance challenge #ghencovychallenge #vudieuruatay is a health communication against COVID-19 project by the National Institute of Occupational and Environmental Health (NIOEH) - Vietnam Ministry of Health, in collaboration with musician Khac Hung, singer Min and Erik, dancer Quang Dang and Goodwill Ambassador Chau Bui. We are thrilled to have the support going forward from the United Nation Development Program (UNDP).
With the spirit of “prevention is better than cure”, the project aims to join hands with the community in building hygiene and healthy habits and to encourage our frontline fighters - doctors, epidemiologists, healthcare workers and millions of frontline workers who are exposing themselves daily to the coronavirus.
In this long war, each person being aware of the responsibility to protect oneself, one’s family and community is essential.
What we are doing is a drop in the ocean but we believe if united, all of us can do a lot more for the community.
