1.電視產業的惡夢：疫情正在幫剪線潮猛踩油門
不管是有線電視、衛星電視或是後來才崛起的網路傳輸電視頻道服務都在疫情中面臨雪崩式的剪線潮。今年第一季美國付費電視損失了180萬用戶，是有史以來萎縮最快的時刻。全美如今共有460萬家庭沒有買有線電視服務，等同於1998年有付費訂購的家戶總數。產業分析師John Hodulik認為對疫情過後的經濟衰退預期是導致消費者大量剪線的理由，而且如果疫情趨緩之後運動比賽沒有即時恢復舉辦的話，將可能由運動頻道帶起一波退訂的超完美風暴。Disney、WarnerMedia和NBCUniversal等媒體集團都在積極繞過有線電視服務，直接透過串流平台將內容送至消費者身上。這時候我們就可以清楚看出被台灣有線電視系統綁架的HBO Go必須跟有線電視或有線寬頻一起搭售是多麽可悲的徒勞。

2.《The Mandaloria 曼達洛人》的LED虛擬場景攝影棚成為好萊塢的救星
去年ILM為《The Mandaloria 曼達洛人》搭設直徑達75英呎、高20英呎、270度環狀LED牆以及LED屋頂時，純粹是為了節省搭建佈景或是特效後製所花費的時間和金錢。他們從沒想到這個LED虛擬場景攝影棚會變成疫情中的好萊塢救星。此時此刻全世界的劇組都面臨了不確定性和不穩定性大大增加。HBO的《Westworld 西方世界》第三季就借用了這個技術，來取代真的派劇組去西班牙拍攝的勞師動眾和不必要的旅行風險。正在製作《Batman 蝙蝠俠》、《Avatar 阿凡達》續集和《Suicide Squad 2 自殺突擊隊2》的Weta Digital也在評估該技術，希望能藉此縮減開支和強化敘事。

3.五張表格看COVID-19怎麼重組娛樂產業版圖
彭博新聞告訴大家要往樂觀處想：疫情正在提供大家未來娛樂消費趨勢的清晰圖像，並驗證了鉅資投入串流平台確實有其正當性。
1)股災：最戲劇的數字是91%。這是Disney淨收入縮水的比例。所有媒體巨人中只有一家公司不涉及廣告收入、沒有任何體育內容以及不需要消費者出門就可以消費。那家在股災中毫髮無傷的公司叫做Netflix。
2)剪線潮：在1600萬新用戶湧入Netflix的同時，其他新串流平台也有斬獲。在此同時，昂貴的付費有線電視被消費者無情斬斷。上一季美國有線電視掉了200萬用戶，其中AT&T旗下的DirectTV幾乎佔了半數。
3)免費串流：免費串流曾經被小看，但消費者的荷包縮水後隨即開始青睞這些不用花錢就可以收看的節目（當然需要忍受一下惱人的廣告）。其中Pluto TV的用戶成長被視為是同樣受到疫情衝擊的ViacomCBS集團的一線光明。
4)遊戲產業：遊戲正在接收運動賽事停擺之後留下的空白市場。電信業監測到疫情之後線上遊戲的網路流量暴增了200%。除了花更多時間和流量之外，遊戲中消費也出現了增長。EA第一季的「遊戲中消費」收入增加了17%。
5)電影院：電影院成了名副其實的A Quiet Place噤界。雖然多數人仍然樂觀認為玩了這麼多遊戲、看了這麼多Netflix之後，消費者仍然會渴望出門看電影。但即便部分電影院再開門，也很難預期短期內恢復榮景，因為今年大片已經快要全數騰空。其中間隔最久的是檔期延後將近一年的《F9 玩命關頭9》。
