I’d like to share with you something i have been keeping to myself for a while now. I couldn’t share it before because we were imprisoned by the politics of fear. Activist, politicians and businessmen who were not in line with the ruling party’s ideology were threatened and pushed to a corner.

I must share this now as i can’t stand witnessing a hero get wrongfully accused.

This is a story that many don’t know. I had to keep it a secret, but in this new era, an era where your right to speak is being uphold, it is time for change.

This is about Tan Sri Tony Fernandes.
.
.
He was among the first persons that came to the aid of Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin when Tan Sri was punished for speaking truth to power.
.
.
He was once again a hero when AirAsia offered discounted flights and added flights during the election period. This infuriated some people in DS Najib’s circle. It became worse when DS Shafie’s (WARISAN) team uploaded a poster thanking this move as it meant that more WARISAN supporters can fly back home to vote.

It didn’t stop there. He refused to fire Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz after she spoke openly against Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak despite being pressured to do so.

He remained vigilant.
.
.
Those actions came with a cost and he has to pay for it.

He was pushed to a corner where he had to openly declare his support for the then ruling government. He had to take a video and his staffs had to change their uniforms. Pictures of the whole event were taken without the right context.

Please Malaysia, don’t label him as a pengkhianat.
.
.
This story is based on my own personal knowledge. TS Tony has helped us from the start, but can’t disclose it to the public due to the fear of repression. I leave it to the Malaysian people to judge.

But what I can promise you is this.. the start of this new era will ensure that your right to openly criticise the government will be guaranteed. You can openly endorse opposition parties without the fear of being persecuted.

We want a strong opposition. So businessmen, feel free to support any sides. We are now living in a new Malaysia.

Happy new Malaysia everyone. Malaysia now belongs to the Rakyat. Thank you Tan Sri Tony Fernandez. Keep on Making Malaysia great.

The UK vote to leave the European Union (EU) in the #Brexit referendum is a turning point. It reflects the anxiety of the British population over immigration, their resentment at having to negotiate with and accommodate European partners, and their desire to assert British identity and sovereignty.

Other developed countries also face similar challenges as Britain. We all live in a globalised, interdependent world. The desire to disengage, to be less constrained by one’s partners, to be free to do things entirely as one chooses, is entirely understandable. And yet in reality for many countries disengaging and turning inwards will likely lead to less security, less prosperity, and a dimmer future.

The next few years will be uncertain ones for Britain and Europe. Leaving the EU is as complicated as joining it. What new arrangements will be made? Will Brexit hurt investor confidence more broadly, and the global economy? How will Britain’s leaving affect the rest of the EU? How will this affect us, living in Asia but part of the same globalised world?

It is too early to tell, but we need to watch developments carefully. Nobody can foresee all the consequences of the Brexit.

The British voters have decided. We wish Britain well. I wish David Cameron well too, who has been a good friend of Singapore and has announced his intention to resign as PM.

Singapore will continue to cultivate our ties with Britain, which is a long standing friend and partner. We hope in time the uncertainty will diminish, and we will make the best of the new reality. - LHL

Youtube Japan is holding a contest called NextUp. They will choose 10 Japanese Youtube Partners and send them to a training camp in Tokyo, as well as provide a large sum of money to be used towards things such as camera equipment, lights, tripods, and other video-making expenses.

I had never tried anything like this before but I've always wanted to make light hearted music videos, in the same way that some of my favorite channels overseas do. Obviously it isn't a perfect video, and there are a lot of things I am going to change next time, but it's been a learning process.

I graduate from Fukuoka School of Music next April and this year I have been trying to figure out what I want to do with myself after that. This contest is a really good opportunity for me to get a head start in a career as a creator, rather than an English Teacher.

Anyway I hope you enjoy this entry. Please check out Mai, Yoko, and Matt, who were incredible support during the making of this video. I couldn't have done this alone and their generosity and time and energy means the world to me.

Shrimp (Ebi) Tempura Udon is a very popular Japanese dish. I arranged it for Halloween. Yay! When Udon gets dry, it's gluten gets strong and sticky, so I wrapped it around Tempura in that instant ;D

Fun and easy! Great for party and also for bento to surprise your honey. hehe

Mummy Shrimp (Ebi) Tempura Udon

Difficulty: Easy
Time: 20min
Number of servings: 6

Ingredients:
6 Ebi (shrimp)
60g Nissin Tempura flour
100cc water
vegetable oil for frying
6 Nori sheet (cut the large sheet into 4 squares)
cream cheese
frozen Udon noodles or pre-boiled Udon noodles
sliced cheese and Nori sheet for eyes
Yamasa Konbu Tsuyu (3 times concentrated Konbu kelp seaweed soup stock) or Tentsuyu (Tempura dipping sauce)

Directions:
1. Shell shrimps (leave their tails), devein, and make incisions in their stomach side to straighten them. Then cut off the tip of the tail and remove the water inside to avoid splatters when frying.
2. Mix Nissin Tempura flour and the water very well.
3. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan to 180~190C (340~350F). Lightly dip the shrimps in the batter and fry them immediately until golden and crisp. Drain Tempura on a rack or a sheet of clean paper towel. (Do not fry too many at once.) Cool down until you can touch.
4. Boil Udon noodles as directed on package and drain well.
5. Spread cream cheese on Nori sheet.
6. Wrap shrimp Tempura with the Nori sheet. When Udon gets dry, it's gluten gets strong and sticky. In that instant, wrap Udon around the shrimp Tempura.
7. Cut out sliced cheese and Nori sheet to make their eyes.
8. Dilute 20cc Konbu Tsuyu with 40cc water (make as much as you want) and bring to a boil.
9. Pour the Konbu Tsuyu over the Mummy Shrimp Tempura Udon and enjoy!

You can eat as cold noodles like Zaru Udon (chilled Udon noodles), or microwave before you eat.
