-ก่อนบอกคนอื่นในออฟฟิศ ไปบอกกับหัวหน้าสายตรงให้เป็นกิจลักษณะก่อน
-สำหรับขั้นตอนที่สำคัญนี้ ถ้าเป็นไปได้ขอให้คุยกับหัวหน้าแบบตัวต่อตัว หรือถ้าไม่ได้จริงๆ ขอให้เป็นการโทรคุยกันจะดีกว่าการเขียนอีเมล์หรือส่งข้อความอย่างเดียว
-บอกก่อนล่วงหน้าอย่างน้อย 2 อาทิตย์ ถ้าเป็นระดับหัวหน้า ขอให้เผื่อเวลาบริษัทอย่างน้อย 3-4 อาทิตย์

ในขั้นตอนการพูดคุยนี้ ไม่ว่าประสบการณ์ในออฟฟิศของคุณจะเป็นอย่างไร ขอให้บทสนทนาของคุณกับหัวหน้าไม่เป็นไปในเชิงลบมากเกินไป ให้เหตุผลของการลาออกไปในทางบวกเพื่อการจากลาด้วยดี
