After two flights and an entire day of travelling, it was good to get out and stretch my legs! Visited Chapultepec Castle and the surrounding park to explore a little bit of Mexico City, and get a sense of the place, its people and its past.
It was a public holiday in Mexico today, so I visited Teotihuacan, the site of an ancient city. It dates back to roughly 100 BC to 650 AD, and was one of the biggest cities in the world before it mysteriously collapsed. Fortunately, many of Teotihuacan’s structures and artefacts remain well-preserved, allowing researchers and anthropologists to study the civilisation in great detail. – LHL
