Don’t Let the Enemy Use Your Weapon
“The young man who told him said, “As I happened by chance on Mount Gilboa, behold, Saul was leaning on his spear; and behold, the chariots and the horsemen followed close behind him. When he looked behind him, he saw me, and called to me. I answered, ‘Here I am.’ He said to me, ‘Who are you?’ I answered him, ‘I am an Amalekite.’ He said to me, ‘Please stand beside me, and kill me; for anguish has taken hold of me, because my life lingers in me.’ So I stood beside him and killed him, because I was sure that he could not live after that he had fallen. The devil cannot just kill you—he has no authority over a believer.
But he’s so scheming that he tricks many believers into using their authority in Christ to speak words that give him an opportunity for destruction.
Saul couldn’t die on his own until he spoke and gave the Amalekite (his enemy which God had told him to eliminate) the instruction to kill him.
Some of us have gotten so ignorant and foolish that we allow the devil to destroy us and even unknowingly thank him for doing it.
Like how Saul fell by his own weapon wielded by his enemy, your weapon is your tongue which contains the potential for life and death.
Your spoken words can build you up with more life, or they can tear you down by allowing more death.
What we hear and believe affects what we will speak. The more you listen to worldly speech, the more it becomes a part of your belief system.
What are you hearing? Demons are very deliberate in the lies that they feed you, to bring about an expected end of death.
God wants us to have life and life more abundantly, but it won’t happen by default. You have to keep hearing about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and reading about it. That’s the only way to believe it, eventually speak it unconsciously, and have it.
Don’t despise the simple act of hearing and speaking. It is far more powerful and real than anything. After all, God spoke all of creation into existence based on the thoughts in His being!
