The weakness of a professional is to think that you know everything, so you don't try (including not open the opportunity for others to try). New ideas --- too confident.
The weakness of amateur is that I don't know much, so I don't dare to try what they think because they are afraid of being wrong. Afraid of missing. I often follow professionals while complaining, but they don't take the way they believe --- not too confident.
So the world walks around the old path.
When the world changes, when the old way is harassed, professionals often can't adapt and like to see that the new way is just cymbals without knowing that they are deceived by the past that they can't see the
Amateur has a professional advantage that has no " answer " clearly. If you live courage to try what you believe, there will finally squatter a new way and become a " new professional "
" Newbies " always wait to hear the answer or order of " old hands " even though many things in this fast-spinning world need new answers from people who dare to try to answer new questions with new ways.
Many things we ask. The best answer may not be in the mouth of high experienced people who took a hot bath before, because hot water is the same hot water - which may be cold for a long time.
Stop waiting for answers from others -- it may be a good way to find out by yourself -- may get new ways, not for everything, but many things need courage to create a new "way"
The question -- makes us know "the old way"
Try it yourself -- make us find a "new way"
What professionals should add is "insecure"
While newbies should add "confidence"
Both of these ways will make professionals and newbies discover " new answers " or " new way " (maybe)Translated

Saddened by the passing of Mrs Ann Wee, one of Singapore’s pioneer social workers.
Mrs Wee came to Singapore from her native UK in 1950 to be with her Singaporean fiancé, lawyer Harry Wee. In a career in social work spanning six decades, she has been a passionate advocate of helping disadvantaged women, children, and the less fortunate. She was well known to the women living in the squatter areas of post-war Singapore. To help them better, she picked up Cantonese, Hokkien, and Malay.
Mrs Wee was also an educator and the longest serving head of the Department of Social Work in NUS (back when it was the University of Malaya). She taught and inspired generations of social workers, and helped push social work to become a recognised and professional calling.
In 2007, I invited her to my National Day Rally. I recounted how she described herself as an OPWA (Old Person with Attitude). She wanted to live a happy and meaningful life for as long as she could, and hoped that when the time came, it would be fast and painless.
Mrs Wee has indeed lived a long and very meaningful life. Her immense contributions to social work education and her lifelong dedication to helping others have fulfilled, many times over, her desire to “make the world a better place”.
My deepest condolences to Mrs Wee’s family and loved ones on her passing. – LHL

Ongoing discussions around land resumption and demolition for redevelopment often get the name Kwu Tung on the news. Part of the North East New Territories development plan, developers have been bulldozing and seizing the land of the village bit by bit.
Kwu Tung village, where the Sheung Yue River flows through, is only a 10-minute minibus ride away from Sheung Shui train station. Before the war, it was called “Seven Villages” because it was formed by seven squatter areas, some of which have already been demolished and redeveloped.

Another day another method to induce labor. I'm starting to think this baby is as stubborn as his mama! I tried to keep myself occupied by staying active. Doing small things around the house. Went to a baby shower and met up some godlier ole friends. Then went down memory which was nice to capture all the places where me and husband met so we can share with our baby in the future. Ending off the night with a massage to get all the pressure points so that baby would budge. So far we have a squatter! Tomorrow will be another day with another method!

Hindraf emerges from the shadows
THE ISSUE: The Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf) was relatively unknown until it provided Indian Malaysians the opportunity to vent feelings pent up over 150 years. The grouping is led by lawyers and brothers P Uthayakumar and Waythamoorthy, who have taken up issues that have plagued the grassroots of a downtrodden community.
From alleged police brutality and deaths in custody, they duo have zeroed in on marginalisation and discrimination of Indians. In defence of the right to religion, they have also been calling attention to the demolition of Hindu temples nationwide.
The first sign of Hindrafs growing base of support was when it gathered some 2,000 Indians at Putrajaya to hand over a memorandum detailing the communitys problems. It did not even get the courtesy of a response.
Waythamoorthy then gave the campaign an instantly international image by suing the British government for RM14 trillion - on grounds that colonialists had brought Indians to Malaya as indentured labourers and later failed to factor in their interests when the Federal Constitution was being formulated.
The brothers, along with other Indian lawyers, began a nationwide roadshow to explain the suit and publicise Hindrafs intention to petition the British Queen to support the suit by appointing a Queens Counsel to represent Indian Malaysians.
On Oct 29, about a week before Deepavali, a century-old temple in Kampung Rimba Jaya in Padang Jawa, Selangor, was destroyed as part of a wider operation by the Shah Alam Municipal Council to clear a squatter settlement which included a surau.
This proved to be the proverbial straw - it even produced a rare sighting of MIC president S Samy Vellu, as Hindraf lawyers pitched into the chaos that ensued.
It was a short hop from that incident to the Nov 25 mass rally at Kuala Lumpur, which saw some 30,000 Indians backing a bid by Hindraf leaders to submit a petition to the British High Commission.
The police response was a crackdown on protesters, followed by charges of attempted murder (since dropped), illegal assembly and causing mischief. Five Hindraf leaders have been detained for two years under the Internal Security Act.
The communitys cause has resonated with individuals, civil society groups and political parties, even if some have distanced themselves from certain Hindraf claims.
Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has been pressured into meeting with Indian-based NGOs to hear the communitys long list of grouses.
