The Dior men's Pre-Fall 2019 collection has just received a rapturous reception upon its premiere in Tokyo. With his sights firmly fixed on the future, and influenced by a collaboration with the artist Hajime Sorayama, the menswear Creative Director, Kim Jones, sent out a lineup that interwove House codes with a stunning spirit of innovative invention. Enjoyed an evening of splendid and rousing performances under the baton of Maestro Tsung Yeh at the Singapore Chinese Orchestra’s fundraising gala dinner yesterday.
The SCO just came back from their tour in Europe, performing their unique Nanyang music to rapturous applause and standing ovations. We were treated to a number of pieces from their tour, as well as compositions based on local songs such as “Singapura, Sunny Island” to commemorate our Bicentennial. Proud that the SCO has cultivated a strong following of its music locally and abroad.
Also delighted that the SCO raised $1.25 million this year! Many thanks to the donors for their generous contributions, and the fundraising committee for their efforts in keeping Chinese arts and culture flourishing. I am confident the SCO will continue to soar to greater artistic heights! – LHL
