Saudi Aramco เป็นบริษัทน้ำมันแห่งชาติของซาอุดีอาระเบีย ก่อตั้งขึ้นในปี 1933 ในชื่อ California-Arabian Standard Oil Company
ปัจจุบัน Saudi Aramco มีอายุกว่า 86 ปี โดยบริษัททำธุรกิจด้านปิโตรเลียมครบวงจร ตั้งแต่ธุรกิจต้นน้ำอย่างการสำรวจและผลิตน้ำมันดิบ โรงกลั่นน้ำมัน ไปจนถึงธุรกิจปลายน้ำอย่างปิโตรเคมี โดยก่อนหน้านี้มีรัฐบาลซาอุดีอาระเบียถือหุ้นใน Saudi Aramco จำนวน 100%
สำหรับหุ้นที่ IPO ในครั้งนี้ จะเป็นหุ้นเพียงจำนวน 1.5% ของหุ้นทั้งหมดของบริษัทเท่านั้น หรือคิดเป็นจำนวนเงินที่ระดมทุนประมาณ 8 แสนล้านบาท
ปัจจุบัน Saudi Aramco ถือว่าเป็นบริษัทที่มีกำไรมากที่สุดในโลก
ปี 2018 รายได้ 10.7 ล้านล้านบาท กำไร 3.6 ล้านล้านบาท
ด้วยกำไรขนาดนี้ทำให้ Saudi Aramco มีกำไรมากกว่าบริษัทอย่าง Apple ซึ่งเป็นบริษัทที่มีกำไรมากสุดอันดับ 2 ของโลกที่ 1.8 ล้านล้านบาท ถึง 2 เท่า
ถ้าให้เทียบกับ ปตท. บริษัทที่ใหญ่สุดในตลาดหลักทรัพย์ของไทยที่มีกำไรในปี 2018 ที่ 119,683 ล้านบาท Saudi Aramco จะมีกำไรมากกว่า ปตท. ถึง 30 เท่า
แล้วจุดเด่นของ Saudi Aramco มีอะไรบ้าง?
ข้อแรกคือ การมีกระแสเงินสดที่ดีมาก โดยในปี 2018 จ่ายเงินปันผลให้แก่รัฐบาลซาอุดีอาระเบีย 1.8 ล้านล้านบาท หรือประมาณ 50% ของกำไรสุทธิ และคาดว่าปี 2019 จะจ่ายเงินปันผลกว่า 2.3 ล้านล้านบาท
ข้อต่อมาคือ บริษัทนี้มีปริมาณน้ำมันดิบสำรอง 260,000 ล้านบาร์เรล หรือ 22% ของปริมาณน้ำมันดิบสำรองทั้งโลก
โดยมีปริมาณการผลิตน้ำมันดิบอยู่ที่วันละ 10 ล้านบาร์เรล หรือ 12% ของการผลิตน้ำมันดิบทั้งโลก และมีต้นทุนในการผลิตน้ำมันดิบอยู่ที่ 2.8 ดอลลาร์สหรัฐต่อบาร์เรล ซึ่งถือว่าต่ำที่สุดในโลก
เรียกได้ว่าถ้าราคาน้ำมันปรับตัวลงมากๆ บริษัทนี้น่าจะอยู่รอดเป็นคนสุดท้าย
จริงๆ แล้วแผนการเสนอขายหลักทรัพย์ต่อสาธารณะเป็นครั้งแรก (IPO) ของ Saudi Aramco นั้น จะเริ่มตั้งแต่เดือนกันยายนที่ผ่านมา แต่เนื่องจากเกิดเหตุโจมตีโรงกลั่นน้ำมัน 2 แห่งของซาอุดีอาระเบียทำให้แผนการเสนอขายหุ้นจึงต้องเลื่อนออกไป
แต่มาตอนนี้เมื่อทุกอย่างพร้อมแล้ว ทางรัฐบาลของซาอุดีอาระเบียจึงได้นำหุ้น Saudi Aramco เข้าซื้อขายในตลาดหลักทรัพย์ โดยหุ้นของ Saudi Aramco ได้เข้าซื้อขายครั้งแรกในตลาดหุ้นซาอุดีอาระเบียก่อน ที่ชื่อว่า Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) โดยเริ่มซื้อขายตั้งแต่วันที่ 11 ธันวาคม 2019
ส่วนในอนาคตจะมีการเข้าไปจดทะเบียนในตลาดหุ้นที่พัฒนาแล้วในต่างประเทศโดยเฉพาะที่สหรัฐอเมริกาหรือไม่นั้น ขึ้นอยู่กับว่าหุ้นดังกล่าวจะได้รับความสนใจแค่ไหนจากนักลงทุนต่างชาติ
ซึ่งในวันแรกที่เปิดซื้อขาย ราคาหุ้นของ Saudi Aramco ได้ขึ้นจากราคา IPO ไปอีก 10% จนล่าสุดบริษัทมีมูลค่า 57 ล้านล้านบาท
โดยหุ้น IPO ที่เสนอขาย ทางรัฐบาลซาอุดีอาระเบียได้เสนอขายให้แก่นักลงทุนรายใหญ่และกลุ่มกองทุนใหญ่ๆ จากต่างประเทศ ซึ่งหนึ่งในนั้นคือ กองทุน Silk Road ซึ่งเป็นกองทุนที่รัฐบาลจีนตั้งขึ้นมาเพื่อซื้อกิจการในต่างประเทศ โดยคาดกันว่า มูลค่าเงินลงทุนที่กองทุนนี้ได้นำไปซื้อหุ้น IPO ของ Saudi Aramco มีมูลค่าสูงถึง 300,000 ล้านบาท
ซึ่งทางรัฐบาลจีนมองว่า การลงทุนในหุ้น Saudi Aramco จะเป็นเครื่องมือในการเชื่อมความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างรัฐบาลจีนกับรัฐบาลซาอุดีอาระเบียเป็นอย่างดี
นอกเหนือจากผลกำไรและเงินปันผลจากการลงทุนในหุ้นตัวนี้ ปัจจุบันประเทศจีนยังเป็นลูกค้ารายใหญ่ในการนำเข้าน้ำมันดิบของรัฐบาลซาอุดีอาระเบีย โดยในปี 2018 จีนนำเข้าน้ำมันดิบจากซาอุดีอาระเบียมูลค่าถึง 906,000 ล้านบาท

รู้ไหมว่า ที่ผ่านมาสถิติการทำหุ้น IPO ที่ใหญ่ที่สุดในโลกนั้นคือ Alibaba โดยมีมูลค่าการระดมทุน 7 แสนล้านบาท ในปี 2014
คราวนี้ถึงแม้ว่า Saudi Aramco จะระดมทุนแค่ 1.5% ของหุ้นทั้งหมด แต่ด้วยความที่บริษัทใหญ่มาก จึงทำให้มูลค่าเงินระดมทุนคิดเป็น 8 แสนล้านบาท ซึ่งทำสถิติการระดมทุนในตลาดหลักทรัพย์ที่มีมูลค่ามากสุดในโลกเช่นกัน..

Going Home
I am in Terempa, Riau Islands, in Indonesia and this is where my father and his ten siblings were born. No words can explain the profound sense of history and gratitude I am feeling being here.

I am sitting where my father’s mother, my Ma Ma (嬤嬤) lived. Part of me wants to kiss this ground where I sit. But I settle for touching it with my fingers and placing it on my heart.

I met my 二伯’s (Yee Pak, or Second Uncle) daughter, my 堂姐 (paternal cousin. She is the lady in red).
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My late father was the third youngest of eleven children. He was 四叔 or Sey Suk to most of the cousins.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Our merry band is led by my 五叔 (Mm Suk, or Fifth Uncle) who is the youngest son and second youngest sibling. Without him, this trip would not be possible because he has all the ties and knows all the relatives here. When he walked through the streets, we had to stop for him to meet and greet everyone in town, like a celebrity.

And I also visited my my 二伯娘 (Second Uncle’s Wife) herself, at her home. She is 90 already. The home she lives in is 55 years old. Still in its original form. Strong wood floors, unfazed by age.

Word got out to the village that we were visiting, and someone said, “She was so excited, she bought a new mat for the house.”
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I could see a few tears in her eyes as she saw us off at the door. She has not seen my Mm Suk for 33 years already. We told her we would see her again the next day.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Terempa is the capitol of Anambas region in the Riau Islands. My uncles, aunts and paternal grandparents came from here. My grandfather came from 顺德 or Shun Tuck, in China. We are Cantonese.

But we are also of hardy Indonesian island stock. It used to take my Third Uncle nine days to get to Singapore by sampan.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This is the first time many of us cousins are traveling together. And it’s made doubly significant that this is the first time many of us have ever seen or set foot on our ancestral home. If you made a tv series out of our journey, it would be called 回乡寻根.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Back then, life was hard. Children were often given away because families could not afford to keep all of them. But Mm Suk said my Nonya grandmother was firm and insisted no one would be given away, Without her, they may have been separated.

It was not easy to get here. We came by ferry via Tanjung Pinang. Then a one hour flight from Tanjung Pinang to Matak. Then from Matak, we took a speedboat to Terempa that took 20 minutes (it would take 90 minutes if by Pong Pong, the boat bus).
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We started out at 9am and finally reached the island at 4pm. It was like the Amazing Race.
But I was finally home.
