The co-chair of the #British-Taiwanese All-Party Parliamentary Group, Lord Rogan, has been really busy promoting #Taiwan’s inclusion in international organizations recently!
He sent a joint letter on February 6, along with honorary chair of the group, Lord Steel of Aikwood, to the director-general of the World Health Organization,Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, urging him to allow Taiwan to participate in this year’s World Health Assembly and to correct the policy of including Taiwan as part of China.❌
On February 28, Lord Rogan again sent a joint letter to Adhanom, this time along with MP Martin Vickers and 53 other #UK parliamentarians, expressing his concern at Taiwan being incorrectly included under China in reference to the risk of infection, and stating that Taiwan is NOT under China's jurisdiction and that healthcare in Taiwan and China are administered by separate and independent authorities.
Lord Rogan stated that excluding Taiwan government officials and experts from the WHO poses a significant risk to global public security and hinders efforts to curb the spread of the #NovelCoronavirus.
