องค์การอวกาศ NASA จะมีการแถลงข่าวใหญ่คืนนี้ เวลาตีหนึ่ง
คืนนี้ NASA จะมีแถลงข่าวใหญ่นะครับ ยังไม่ทราบเรื่องอะไร รู้แต่ว่าเกี่ยวกับ "การค้นพบนอกระบบสุริยะ" และเกี่ยวข้องกับ "ดาวเคราะห์นอกระบบสุริยะ" หรือที่รู้จักกันในนาม "Exoplanets"

การออกมาประกาศแถลงข่าวนี้นับว่าค่อนข้างน่าประหลาดใจสักเล็กน้อย เพราะในช่วงทศวรรษที่ผ่านมา เรามีความก้าวหน้าในด้าน exoplanets มาเยอะมาก ทุกวันนี้เรามีดาวเคราะห์นอกระบบสุริยะที่ยืนยันแล้ว 3,449 ดวง ที่ยังรอการยืนยันอีกกว่า 4,696 ดวง และพบดาวที่เป็นดาวเคราะห์หินกว่า 348 ดวง ซึ่งในนี้ได้รวมถึงดาวที่มีมวลใกล้เคียงกับโลก โคจรอยู่ในช่วง habitable zone รอบดาวฤกษ์ที่ใกล้เคียงกับดวงอาทิตย์ เราพบแม้กระทั่งหลักฐานของชั้นบรรยากาศ และเคยพบดาวเคราะห์ที่โคจรรอบดาวฤกษ์ที่ใกล้โลกที่สุดอีกด้วย
สิ่งที่พูดมาทั้งหมดนี้เป็นสิ่งที่น่าทึ่ง แต่ก็ได้มีการค้นพบกันไปแล้ว คำถามก็คือ แล้วแถลงข่าวการค้นพบที่ยิ่งใหญ่ครั้งนี้ เขาจะพูดถึงอะไรกันอีก
ถ้าพูดถึงเรื่องดาวเคราะห์นอกระบบแล้ว ที่ยิ่งใหญ่กว่านี้ก็คงจะเป็นค้นพบชีวิตนอกระบบสุริยะ แต่ผมยังไม่ค่อยอยากจะเชื่อว่าเขาจะมาบอกว่าเจอเอเลี่ยนหรอกนะครับ เป็นไปได้ว่าอาจจะเจอน้ำบนดาวเคราะห์ดวงอื่น แต่คงต้องติดตามดูว่าเขาจะพูดเกี่ยวกับอะไร
แต่อย่างไรก็ตาม หลังจากแถลงข่าวจบ จะเขียนสรุปเป็นภาษาไทยโดยละเอียดให้ที่นี่แน่นอนครับ
