Ramadan is the month of Quran, where the breath of life was brought back to the earth, from darkness to light, back to Allah. It is a month of Baraqaah [goodness] & seeking Allah's forgiveness. The greatest source of Baraqah is from the Quran, so let's reconnect, rebuild our relationship with the Quran, read, understand & apply it to our lives so we can maximize our good deeds.
What's your battle plan this Ramadan? None of us know when our expiry date is, so let's begin this next Ramadan with urgency, like it will be our last so we can absorb the miracles in our lives with real focus to bring about positive change.
5 Principles to practice for a life changing Ramadan.
1. The orders of Allah is just as important as the rituals of Ramadan.
It is about refraining oneself from indecency, guarding your eyes, tongue, ears from filth or anything that may decrease your Iman & Taqwa. It is about getting close to Allah, feeding the poor,maximizing your good deeds & seeking forgiveness.
2. Start demonstrating your love for Quran with your family at home. Enjoin regularity in prayer with your family. Bring in the Quran, read, practice, reflect, understand and attach yourself to the Quran, make it your everyday companion, it is a life changing experience.
3. Separation can be healed and relationships can be mended. Forgive, pardon and excuse those who have wronged you. Learn to let go, push away the intolerances, ego, anger, evil, so that you may attain peace & perhaps the one who was your enemy could be a dear friend. This is a month of mercy and Doa.
4. The gates of heaven are open & the Angels carry up your Doa without being rejected. This is one of the best times ever to make Doa, make use of this time.
5. Start to make lots of Doa, learn and memorize the doa's from our Prophets - Ibrahim A.S, Yunus A.S, Muhammad, peace & blessings be upon him. Many of these you can find in Hisnul muslim & in the Quran.
May Allah increase our Taqwa in this blessed month & attain his forgiveness & mercy, ameen.
