The house of Dior has enjoyed a profound connection to the world of cinema since the very start, a bond that has deepened in more recent years as three internationally renowned House friends have become fully-fledged Dior icons, glamorous embodiments of the strength and femininity of the Dior woman, choosing to wear some of the House's most sublime creations at important moments in their career. The long-term face of 'J’adore', Charlize Theron, and Natalie Portman, the incarnation of 'Miss Dior' for a decade, both continue to light up red carpets from movie premieres to the Golden Globes in gorgeous gowns by Maria Grazia Chiuri. And Jennifer Lawrence, a regular star of the ready-to-wear campaigns, famously wore a sweeping haute couture dress when she accepted her Best Actress Oscar in 2013, an event immortalized in fashion and Hollywood history.
Monsieur Dior was enamored of art in all its forms, and this extended all the way to the silver screen. From its very inception, this love affair between the House and cinema saw it dressing some of the most glamorous names of Hollywood’s golden age. Marlene Dietrich, a close friend of the founding couturier and with a Dior costume clause in her contract, appeared in 'Stage Fright' wearing, amongst others, the head-turning 'Palais Rose' evening dress. And to celebrate her engagement to Prince Rainier, Grace Kelly wore a dress specially made by the ateliers at 30 Avenue Montaigne. Elizabeth Taylor also enjoyed a close relationship with the House, accepting her Oscar for Best Actress in 1961 wearing the flower-embroidered 'Soirée à Rio' dress.

Common started off the moving speech:
First off, I’d like to thank God that lives in us all. Recently, John and I got to go to Selma and perform “Glory” on the same bridge that Dr. King and the people of the civil rights movement marched on 50 years ago. This bridge was once a landmark of a divided nation, but now is a symbol for change. The spirit of this bridge transcends race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, and social status. The spirit of this bridge connects the kid from the South side of Chicago, dreaming of a better life to those in France standing up for their freedom of expression to the people in Hong Kong protesting for democracy. This bridge was built on hope. Welded with compassion. And elevated by love for all human beings.
Then Legend took to the microphone, building off those sentiments:
Thank you. Nina Simone said it’s an artist’s duty to reflect the times in which we live. We wrote this song for a film that was based on events that were 50 years ago, but we say Selma is now, because the struggle for justice is right now. We know that the voting rights, the act that they fought for 50 years ago is being compromised right now in this country today. We know that right now the struggle for freedom and justice is real. We live in the most incarcerated country in the world. There are more black men under correctional control today than were under slavery in 1850. When people are marching with our song, we want to tell you that we are with you, we see you, we love you, and march on.

今天要介紹的，是拿下金球獎最佳影片－音樂及喜劇類的優質作品《淑女鳥》(Lady Bird)。
劇情敘述一位在加州首府沙加緬度的高中女生Christine。因為嫌棄自己出生長大的城市太過平凡，她一直以來就很嚮往著要去像紐約那樣充滿了人文氣息的大城市。
隨著自己快要成年，她渴望擺脫現在正在過著的人生，想要對自己的人生有更多的掌控權。
這部電影非常的寫實，角色們所經歷的事彷彿每個人或多或少都曾經遇過。而我們覺得這部片想要告訴我們的，是成長的過程中，非常重要的三個課題，分別是：人際關係、關心的藝術、還有接受自己。
