1）Pop one’s clogs
被譽為是最英國的一句俚語，有超過50多年的歷史，意思是死亡或去世。
例子：By all means enjoy a partnership with a popular celebrity but if said famous person's clogs decide to pop, you may want to consider cancelling that scheduled post. [The Guardian]
2）That went down a treat
一般很少用於美國的俚語，多用來形容食物值得一試，而且treat一般只用單數。
例子：We are grateful that she has forked out for the baby's blanket/gonk needs, and so won't bother to question why she has failed to give me the boxset of classic episodes of The Banana Splits, which I had specifically hinted would go down a treat. [The Independent]
3）Take the mickey out of someone
也是一個在美國很少見到的俚語，意思是開某人的玩笑或者取笑某人。
例子：That phrase has come back to haunt me on many mickey-taking occasions since. [Belfast Telegraph]
4）Itchy feet
這句俚語多用來形容一個人想要嘗試新鮮的事情。
例子：I tend to get itchy feet after 18 months so there must be something special about Football Focus – we're here today and I've still got butterflies in my stomach.
5）At a loose end
這句話可以形容你很悶或者沒有任何事情可以做。
例子：He's been at a loose end ever since he retired.
6）Another string to your bow
用於形容你有另一樣求生或者生存技能，特指可以幫到你求職方面的技能。

7）As the actress said to the bishop
等同於英語中另一個短語'That's what she said'的意思，多使用於英國，用來做強調之用。

8）Cheap as chips

9）Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves
與其說是俚語，不如說這句話是老一輩經常教育年輕人所用的一句經典，字面意思其實已經很明確，就是不要浪費一分一毫，因為這些錢省下來都會是很可觀的一筆費用。其實也有點像中國的一句老話：積水成淵，積土成山。
10）Nosy parker
這個詞是形容那些喜歡管人家閒事的人，如果你實在受不了有些人嘻嘻歪歪喜歡嚼舌頭，那麼你就可以說他們是nosy parker。
例子：Stop being such a nosy parker! They're having a private conversation!
