*A RESPONSE TO ISRAEL’S CONDEMNATION OF MALAYSIA FOR PROHIBITING ISRAELI ATHLETES FROM COMING TO MALAYSIA.*
Israel is indisputably the biggest hypocrite in their condemnation of Malaysia. Their attempt to play the “victim card” is pathetic and despicable.
Hypocrite Israel condemns Malaysia for allegedly “Politicising sports”.
Has Hypocrite Israel forgotten the banned placed by them on Gaza’s Ittihad Al-Shejaiya football team from crossing into the West Bank to play the final match of the Palestine football cup?
Isn’t that politicising Sports?
Has Hypocrite Israel forgotten how they illegally control which Palestinian athletes can leave their homeland for training or tournaments?
Isn’t that politicising Sports?
Has Hypocrite Israel forgotten how they illegally appointed themselves as the “guardians” of Palestine by deciding who can and cannot play against Palestinian athletes in their very own country?
Isn’t that politicising Sports?
Heck, has Hypocrite Israel forgotten how they pressured the US National Basketball Association (NBA) to preclude Palestine from its list in 2018? Sadly, NBA bowed down to the despicable Sports Minister of Israel.
Where was the self-righteous, victim-playing, Hypocrite Israel then?
As the Minister of Youth & Sports of Malaysia, I stand firm with Malaysia’s decision.
Malaysia should not be a complicit to a brutal and inhumane regime. Our Palestinian brothers and sisters have been murdered in cold blood and those who live, imprisoned for life in the open air prison, tightly controlled by the Israeli regime.
While Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch have condemned Israeli aggression and war crimes, Hypocrite Israel still tries to play the victim-card towards the international community.
Where was the humanity when Mohammed Tamim had half his skull crushed by Israel’s rubber bullet, while the regime brushed it off as an injury from falling off a bicycle?
Where was the humanity when the legless, wheel chaired Ibrahim Abu Thuraya was murdered by the Israeli regime while being on the other side of the fence?
Where was the humanity when more than a 100 peaceful protestors were murdered while thousands more injured for protesting against the invasion of their home, Palestine?
If South Africa can be banned from the Olympics for its Apartheid regime,
Malaysia as a sovereign country has the right to ban the murderous, state-sponsored, War Criminal, apartheid Israeli regime from coming to peace-loving Malaysia.
I stand with my Palestinian brothers and sisters, not Hypocrite Israel.
Syed Saddiq

okay TD and Iverson are both on it and you know what they give you. quality minutes and numbers.
the 2003 roster had very good shooters in Ray Allen, Vince Carter, and Mike Bibby. they USA roster also had tremendous ability to break down the zone defense by dribble penetration by Vince Carter, Tmac, and to a lesser extent RJ and Martin.
you also had the unwavering floor general who at the time back in 03 was the consensus #1 PG in the NBA Jason Kidd.
At the time, ELton Brand and Nick Collison were not all stars, but Elton Brand was already playing at a high level and Collison gives you hustle, boards, and blocks.
now look at the 2004 roster:
Stephon Marbury?
Emeka Okafor? unproven college big man wiht a bad back?
Carlos Boozer?
the current tri captains were very talented in their first year and LB may not have used them enough, but you have to understand that these three players have since grown incredibly in the two years since the 04 debacle.
Marion and Stoudemire are the solid wing players on the Suns tema.. which at the time had not began playing with steve nash yet.. but they are so dynamic that they had trouble adjusting to LB's system.
and no shooters? tsk tsk
disregard what the media and ESPN said, the 04 Olympics WAS a B-list roster.

Allen Iverson makes European debut for Besiktas Cola Turka
Former NBA MVP Allen Iverson made his debut for Besiktas Cola Turka in a 94-91 loss against Hemofarm Stada. The ex-NBA MVP produced 15 points, three rebounds and two assists in 23 minutes in Istanbul on Tuesday.
During the game, Turkish fans cheered the 1996-97 NBA Rookie of the Year. At one point, the crowd at the venue cheered, "Allen Iverson, the son of Besiktas Cola Turka."
Changing jerseys
Iverson, who wears a number 4 Besiktas jersey in favor of his usual number 3 back in the NBA, signed with the club for a two year contract worth $4 million. The 35-year failed to attract any interest from NBA teams this season. The 11-time NBA All-Star did not receive a contract offer after a disappointing season last year with the Memphis Grizzlies and the Philadelphia Sixers.
Last season, Iverson averaged 13.8 points, four assists and 2.8 rebounds while shooting 43 percent from field goal range. He was named as a starter for the NBA All-Star game, but did not play. Early in the season, he was released by the Memphis Grizzlies after he clashed with coach Lionel Hollins. He only lasted with the team for three games and was unhappy with coming off the bench.
In the middle of last season, he was picked up by the Philadelphia Sixers, the team that he led to the 2001 NBA Finals. He played 25 games and was cut after leaving the team to tend to his ailing 4-year old daughter.
In 14 years as a pro, Iverson had stints with the Philadelphia Sixers, Denver Nuggets, Detroit Pistons and the Memphis Grizzlies. Iverson, who won the NBA Most Valuable Player in 2001, is currently 17th on the league's all-time career scoring list with a total of 24,368 points.

The league-leading Philadelphia 76ers
did not need their All-Star center or his backup to show the
defending NBA champions they are capable of usurping their
title.
With Theo Ratliff on the injured list and Matt Geiger suspended,
Allen Iverson outplayed Kobe Bryant and the 76ers used a platoon
of reserve centers to deal with Shaquille O'Neal en route to an
impressive 112-97 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers.
"We knew we were outmatched. We didn't have two of our big men,
but we just knew we had to come out and play some ball," Iverson
said after scoring 40 points and handing out nine assists in 40
minutes.
Iverson hit 14-of-29 shots and 10-of-11 free throws to reach 40
points for the seventh time in his last 11 games and the 11th
time this season. Bryant managed just 18 points while committing
six turnovers in 41 minutes.
"I don't approach the game like it's Kobe, and I want to have a
big game against him," Iverson said. "I want to play a good
game against everybody. When you play well against another great
player, it's only natural for you to feel good about the win.
But that's not the most important thing for me."
Ratliff likely is out until April with a broken wrist, but the
Sixers appeared to get some help in the paint when Geiger
returned from a 1 1/2-month layoff in Tuesday's 107-104 win at
Milwaukee. But Geiger received a two-game suspension for
violating the league's steroids policy earlier Wednesday,
leaving rookie Nazr Mohammed and second-year centers Todd
MacCulloch and Jumaine Jones to deal with O'Neal in the middle.
The trio combined for 26 points and 14 rebounds, helping offset
O'Neal's 29 points and 11 boards.
"I was thrilled, considering the news I got on the way to the
game that Matt wasn't playing against the Lakers with Shaq,"
Brown said of his center by committee rotation. "I had to put
two young kids (Mohammed and MacCullough) in a tough situation.
You look at Jumaine, Nazr and Todd's contribution, it was
amazing."
Tyrone Hill scored 12 points and Mohammed established a
season-high with 12 on 6-of-10 shooting and registered the
Sixers' lone block of the night. Ratliff leads the NBA with 187
blocks.
George Lynch scored 11 points for Philadelphia, which made half
of its 86 shots, held a 43-36 rebounding advantage and forced 17
turnovers while committing 11.
Brian Shaw scored 13 points and Isaiah Rider and Tyronn Lue
added 10 apiece for the Lakers, who shot 48 percent (39-of-81)
and were outscored, 22-13, at the line.
"It was a big game for them," Lakers coach Phil Jackson said. "I
haven't seen Larry Brown that animated on the court in a long
time. They were keyed for our ballclub."
A season-high 21,005 fans packed the First Union Center to see
the Sixers avenge a 96-85 loss to the defending champions on
December 5. The game featured six lead changes and three ties
and turned in Philadelphia's favor late in the first half.
"This was a gift to those people," Iverson said. "The defending
champions come in here and we knock them off. Hopefully, they
enjoyed it and had a good time. Hopefully, it's something they
can cherish."
Mohammed scored off a feed from Iverson, Lynch hit a free throw
and Jones followed with a basket, giving the Sixers a 55-48
halftime advantage.
The Lakers closed within four points three times in the third
quarter but the Sixers pulled away late in the period when
Iverson made a 14-footer, Snow drilled a 3-pointer and
McCullough scored to make it 82-70 entering the final period.
Iverson's two layups, sandwiched around a basket by Toni Kukoc,
gave Philadelphia an 89-72 cushion with 10:10 to play.
"They got all the loose balls, grabbed most of the rebounds and
they made their shots," O'Neal said. "Even though Iverson got
his points, the other guys contributed as well. We made a lot of
mistakes, we didn't take care of the ball and we didn't go after
loose balls like we should have. They just beat us."
Shaw's 3-pointer and a free throw by O'Neal shaved the deficit
to 10 midway through the period but Lynch made two free throws
and Iverson reeled off six straight points to make it 102-84
with 4:15 remaining.
"It's all about being a team," Iverson said. "We fight so hard
for each other. We pat each other on the back if someone messes
up. We are a team. We win together and lose together and that is
the most special thing about this team. There's no egos. We are
trying to win a championship."
