We are Spartans! Yup, believe it or not, I tried and FINISHED my first ever 5km Spartan Sprint today and the girls did their second Spartan Kids Race too! Aroo!

It was a breeze for the kids who said this race was easy and they were disappointed that there was no mud! Haha, we came all prepared with extra clothes and slippers and were ready to get all brown and mucky but it seemed like I was the only one who did so, much to their envy. Lol.
.
As for me, I'm pretty sure today was one of my biggest achievements ever. Let's see, I ran alongside both of the girls for their 800m and 1.6km races in wanting to cheer them on and take photos for them too. Then I discovered one of my shoe soles fell off entirely while running with them and that was before my own race! Haha. So I had to borrow the hubby's shoes which are 3 sizes bigger and hoped that I wouldn't end up with a sprain. Phew, I made it!

It was scorching hot today and I got sunburnt already after the kids races in the morning. But well, Spartans don't give up easily, right? I have to say I did get dizzy spells from all the running and trying to conquer the tough obstacles (couldn't have done it without the help of my lovely teammates @sramrevo @tiffanyteo and Paolo) and it was the second day of my menses so everything was quite messy and I did feel exhausted at some point. But, I'm just glad we pushed ourselves beyond our limits and eventually jumped over the 'fire' together!

Kids, you all did an awesome job too! I hope you are as proud of me as I am of you. To the hubby, I hope I made you 另眼相看 too because you didn't think I could make it. Thank you for looking after the kids while I was panting away. Lol. Till the next time where I hope to be better, faster and stronger.

P.S. The boy is still waiting to turn 4 so he can join finally join in!

How do you make a great opening number for the Oscars? Get a bunch of Broadway talent to do it.
The production number, "Moving Pictures," sung by Tony-winning Academy Awards host Neil Patrick Harris and "Into the Woods" star Anna Kendrick, was written by Academy Award-winning "Frozen" songwriters Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez.
The visuals edited Harris into classic films from "The Wizard of Oz" to "Star Wars" to "Into the Woods."
The middle section of the song, as sung by Jack Black, aped Stephen Sondheim's "Witch's Rap" from Into the Woods, and he warned Harris that he would be “better off polishing your Tony." Kendrick drove him off by yelling “Beat it” and flinging her Cinderella shoe at him.
