According to the U.S. Pacific Fleet, the Australian Navy joined the America warships to team up in the South China Sea. The team now consists of 4 warships--US Navy's guided-missile cruiser USS Bunker Hill (CG 52), guided-missile destroyer USS Barry(DDG 52), USS America (LHA 6) Expeditionary Strike Group, and RAN Anzac-class frigate HMAS Parramatta (FFH 154).
As the standoff continues, Washington is positively rebuilding its security commitment to the Southeast Asian countries by not backing down. And this "watch and ready" can also be a necessary action to maintain its dominant position in the SCS during this global pandemic.
