I really didn't have an idea of what or how to start on this project. So I always go to what inspires me? Where does my passion lie? Naturally for me everything and anything Jesus has to be the center of my life. And right when I was thinking of that, the phrase "Jesus Christ Superstar" popped into my head. And these bible verses spoke to my heart. I hope when people see this pair of shoe they will feel... Peace.

Canada-based James Kerr’s animations put a cheeky spin on historical art classics. Drawing from old, often religious paintings, Kerr’s collages dour-faced historical figures into absurdist modern landscapes. A nobleman roasting marshmallows gets abducted by aliens; Jesus plays golf and cheats using his miraculous hands. For Gucci Ace he charts an animated day in the life of the shoe, from its 7am wakeup to a romantic sunset date on a beach. – Larissa Pham
