ชีวิตจะพัฒนาได้ต้องมีกัลยาณมิตรคอยเตือน คอยรั้ง คอยกระตุกให้คิด แต่ถ้าเราดุเกินไป กัลยาณมิตรย่อมไม่กล้าเอ่ยปาก เพราะกลัวหมัดสวน ถ้าเราอ่อนไหวเกินไป กัลยาณมิตรก็ไม่กล้าเตือน เพราะกลัวเราอารมณ์ขึ้นแล้วเลิกคบ ดุไป อ่อนไหวเกิน ย่อมยากจะได้รับคำเตือนหรือท้วงติง หากกำลังเทไปด้านใดด้านหนึ่งจนล้นก็ยากที่จะกลับมาสมดุลได้
กระแสเชี่ยวกรากในบางช่วงของโซเชี่ยลมีเดีย ทำให้แม้บางคนอยากท้วง อยากเตือน อยากรั้ง ก็ยังไม่กล้าทำ เพราะความรุนแรง ดุ และอ่อนไหวของอารมณ์ในนั้น อยู่ในดีกรีที่...ถ้ามึงขวางมึงมีโอกาสตายสูง จึงเป็นบรรยากาศที่ยากจะมีกัลยาณมิตรปรากฏขึ้นมาเตือนกัน แม้อยากท้วงอะไรก็เงียบๆ ไว้น่าจะปลอดภัยกับชีวิตมากกว่า
กระแสจึงพัดพาไปในทิศทางเดียวกัน รุนแรงขึ้นเรื่อยๆ จนบางครั้งก็ไปถึงจุดที่ล้นเกินแต่ก็เกินต้านทานเช่นกัน ไม่เฉพาะกระแสปัจจุบันเท่านั้น เราผ่านสถานการณ์ทำนองนี้มามากมายหลายครั้ง

ก็ใช่นะ บางอย่างมันชัดแจ้งว่าอะไรถูกอะไรผิด อะไรควร-ไม่ควร แต่พออารมณ์มันเอ่อล้นในเน็ตบางทีมันก็ผลักไปสู่จุดที่ 'ดี' กลายเป็น 'ไม่ค่อยดี' ได้เหมือนกัน
เพราะแบบนี้เราจึงต้องการกัลยาณมิตร
หากลองสังเกตจะพบว่า ผู้ที่สามารถผุดโผล่เนื้อหาทานกระแสออกมาโดยไม่เจ็บตัวนักมักจะเป็นพระ หรือไม่ก็หมอ แม้มีคนไม่เห็นด้วยก็จะเถียงแบบสุภาพหน่อย เช่น "แหม แต่หลวงพ่อคะ คนแบบนี้จะมีเมตตาให้ก็ไม่ควรหรือเปล่าคะ" อะไรแบบนี้ ส่วนคนทั่วไปนี่ถ้าท้วงได้โดยไม่เจ็บตัวนับว่าลีลาดีมาก
ชีวิตที่ไม่มีกัลยาณมิตร เวลาหลงทางนั้นจะหลงไปไกล ต้องใช้เวลาสักพักจึงจะรู้สึกตัวเองว่า เรามาไกลเกินไปแล้ว สภาพอาจจะน่วมไปแล้วก็ได้ สังคมที่ไม่มีกัลยาณมิตร หากหลงทางก็หลงไปไกล และคงบอบช้ำมากเช่นกัน อาจฝากแผลเป็นในใจหรือสร้างนิสัยบางอย่างค้างไว้ในสังคม
