澳洲皇家海軍迎接全新防空驅逐艦「雪梨」號(HMAS Sydney, DDG 42)，5月18日正式在新南威爾斯州成軍服役
該艦為霍巴特級防空驅逐艦(Hobart-class)的第三艘同級艦，噸位7000噸，採用神盾系統AN/SPY-1D(V）3D被動相位陣列雷達系統(PESA)、AN/SPQ-9B 搜索/追蹤雷達等
武裝為MK-45 Mod4 5吋砲、以色列製「颱風」25mm遙控武器站、Mk-41垂直發射系統共48單元，包含SM-2/6防空飛彈、RIM-162 ESSM近程防空飛彈、戰斧巡弋飛彈，兩座四聯裝MK-141魚叉反艦飛彈系統，MK-15 Block 1B方陣快砲，MK-32 Mod9 324mm反潛魚雷發射器
