Fashion was not the only thing about which Monsieur Dior was passionate – music, art and cuisine also represented three hugely important elements in his life. As a music lover, he cultivated a lifelong adoration for the work of Chopin, Debussy, Beethoven and Mozart, naming designs in his Spring-Summer 1950 haute couture collection after the great composers. Similarly, his passion for gourmet cuisine inspired a series of dresses – 'Caramel', 'Chantilly', 'Pain d'Épices', 'Bonbon' – named after some of his favorite treats. And then there was his love of art, which paved the way for his entry to the world of fashion. On this occasion, the House invites you to (re)discover the joy of drawing and "its wonderfully fortuitous accidents that reshape one's thoughts and ideas", as the founding couturier himself said.
