Miura was friends with many other celebrities. One such friend was Miura Shohei (32), who had appeared with Haruma on “Gokusen” (2008). One person, who knew both and worked on “Gokusen” with them, commented, “Shohei and Haruma were friends even to this day, earning the nickname “Mabudachi”. But Shohei was completely caught off guard, having heard nothing from Haruma or seeing potential signs that this might happen. As such, Shohei is still in a state of disbelief.”
“On the set of “Gokusen”, Haruma was very professional, completely memorizing all his lines. Even though he was more famous than most of his fellow cast members he didn’t have an attitude at all.”
“However, Haruma knew at the time that his agency had huge expectations of him. Because he was underage, he went to great lengths to not behave in a way that would get picked up by tabloids. He even put some distance between himself and his delinquent friends. At karaoke he’d opt for Southern All Stars or Yuzu, and maintained that good behavior as expected of a proper young man even in private.”
Even though they were extremely busy, both Miuras were able to find the time to go surfing together. Their surfing buddies that they had in Chiba answered our questions with the following:
“Miura would come at least once a month for several months in a row to come surfing. He really was a good person. He definitely had a busy schedule being a popular actor, and surfing provided him with the break he needed from all of that. This year however, with the pandemic, I wasn’t able to meet him at all. I really regret it. Why did this happen?”

Apple Daily 英文專欄:
After the media, landlords will be the next target
https://hk.appledaily.com/opinion/20210517/BIW343AKIRHSTGFFTVT4Q26I7I/
This is a game of boiling frogs. Protesters and politicians are the first group of people to be snatched. The message is that “only a small number of people” are targeted. The aim is to create a deterrence effect. I won’t go into detail here as there are only so many column inches. Meanwhile, some outspoken media outlets are being sorted out. For example, leading journalists of the mainstream outlet Cable TV (1097.HK) have resigned en masse not long ago, and Bao Choy, a producer of RTHK’s “Hong Kong Connection”, was prosecuted last month.
In the latest incident, the government has frozen Jimmy Lai’s assets, including 71.26 percent of his shares in Apple Daily’s parent company Next Digital (0282.HK), of which he is the major shareholder, as well as his holdings in three other private companies held in local banks.
After sorting out members of the opposition and media outlets that monitor the government, the focus of the game will be shifted to landlords, in similar vein as the Land Reform launched by Mao Zedong in the 1950s that saw the confiscation of landlords’ land.
Having collected in April a plot of land in Kam Sheung Road from CK Asset (1113.HK) and Henderson Land (0012.HK), citing the Land Resumption Ordinance, the government brandished its sword to Sun Hung Kai Properties (0016.HK) and New World Development (0017.HK), seizing from them plots of land in Yuen Long and Fanling this month, on grounds that it needs to build subsidized housing. So Hong Kong’s four biggest property developers have all got their fair share of being targeted, and Yuen Long rural leaders who gained notoriety in 2019 are not spared either.
Offering rewards based on merits is not an approach the current regime adopts. Following the 1967 riots, the British colonial government rewarded rural villages for showing it support during the riots by launching the Small Housing Policy (also known as the “Ding House Policy”) that took effect in December 1972. But rural leaders today will not see a replay of that. In 2019, they went to great lengths to help the authorities. Alas, some ding house landlords have recently been arrested by the Independent Commission Against Corruption, and some other rural villagers have had their ancestral houses seized by the government on grounds of the Land Resumption Ordinance.
Today, the ordinance can be used to target anyone, and no one can figure out the government’s land seizure strategy. The plots collected by the government are not those that have long remained undeveloped but those with clearly laid out development plans. Apparently, what the government is doing has no logic. On the face of it, it occupies the moral high ground, when in fact it may just want to demonstrate its authority.
On the internal side of things, the Hong Kong government and its disciplinary forces are on life support as they have been deprived of their real power. Externally, politicians, the media, businessmen and the rural elite are being targeted. Who will be the next target? Taking reference from the history of certain political party, one may note that there are not only licensed thugs but also unlicensed ones who are active in the underground economy. Who will call the shot after midnight in Hong Kong tomorrow? What do you think?
In the movie “Men Suddenly in Black”, Ninth Uncle and his buddies secretly went to a nightclub, only to be busted by their wives. To help his brothers flee, Ninth Uncle sacrificed himself. In today’s Hong Kong, who is Ninth Uncle? While you guys are having fun, have you ever spared a thought for Ninth Uncle? Or will you be the next Ninth Uncle?

Why is the MB saying NO to GST, water deals and highways?
I understand there are teething problems with GST - I personally feel it was implemented a wee bit too fast. You need to ensure the personnel and authorities involved are (fully) well-equipped and knowledgeable about it first ...but what's done is done.
Moving forward, I hope corruption and crazy kickbacks are going to stop once and for all. There must be transparency and proper governance as to how public funds are being utilised.
I've been a tax-payer since I started work in 2001. I always pay on time. I may not like it, but I do it because our government has a country to run and I am a proud citizen of Malaysia. I pay my Cukai Taksiran, I pay taxes imposed on me when I purchase something online from overseas. And I'm one of those who didn't make a huge fuss when GST was introduced BUT I did go all lengths to know more about it and to find out how I can cut costs by revising my monthly budget, and trimming things that the family don't really need.
I've used an example on how the Swedes are exceptionally OK with their high taxes (GST alone is 25%) and this is due to their system and the efficiency of their administrators. (It's too long to type it all out here, but it's on my Instagram post: daphneiking).
About the water deal.
This is one of the most recent articles I can find online:
"The Selangor state government is committed to finding a swift solution to its long-held ambition to restructure the state’s water industry, provided that its federal counterpart lives up to its end of the bargain, Mentri Besar Azmin Ali said today."
"Finding a SWIFT solution to it LONG-held ambition." "provided"
This issue has been ding-donging for so long. I lost track on the mud-slinging.
It's very tiring. The same goes with plans for better roads, highways, public transportation ...yadayadayada.
I akin it to parents who are getting a divorce and fighting over who gets what ... who pays how much....
And while that drama unfolds, guess who suffers most? The children.
In this case. The rakyat.
Ok itu sahaja buat Jumaat ini.
Bye.

Griffin wins are usually just a pointer, a guide to something better to come somewhere off in the distance but the here and now was frighteningly good when Tony Cruz-trained Pakistan Star produced one of the performances of the season to win his debut on Friday.
A HK$6 million buy in March at the Jockey Club’s international sale, despite a few issues with his breeze-up, Pakistan Star (Matthew Chadwick) did a nice impression of another son of Shamardal, Able Friend, in a breathtaking performance that saw him post a finishing sprint of 21.2 seconds, seven-tenths of a second faster than the next best all day and one of only two horses to crack 22 seconds.
As he had done in his barrier trials, German-bred Pakistan Star began very slowly to be conspicuously last after 100 metres but it only got worse from there, as he struggled to stay in touch with the field and drifted to some five or six lengths behind the second-last horse at the 800m mark.
Tickets might have been torn up and some bad language used at that stage of the race but the turnaround was titanic – Pakistan Star tacked on to the stragglers getting to the home straight, then unleashed a stunning final 400m to win going away by almost two lengths, with Chadwick sitting up on the line.
“I don’t think he beat anything special, the griffin races haven’t been that impressive so I did say to the owners that I thought he had a blowout chance today,” said Chadwick. “Today was about his ability more than where he’s at mentally.”
The first blow to Pakistan Star’s chance came on declaration day when he came up with gate 14 of 14 but Chadwick said that he almost saw that as a plus.
“In these griffin races, with so many inexperienced horses, you never know if they’ll go fast or slow. So from the outside, if he was slow out as I expected, I thought at least he’ll have some room,” Chadwick explained. “From an inside gate, if he missed the jump, he could get cooped up inside. He’s very quirky, he looks after himself a bit. Mentally, he’s not there, which we’ve known ever since his breeze-up before the sale, but he is making progress in trackwork and learning all the time.”

With so many legendary Pokémon to use in the Go Battle league, there is one particular legendary Pokemon that is an exception. The most difficult and rarest legendary to use in the great league, Ho-Oh, is a Pokemon that I went to great lengths to try to get it eligible for the great league. In this video, I show how it performs as in the great league.
Join me as I travel, eat and play Pokémon GO the way a local trainer would in their own country and city. Visiting one country and one city at at time through Pokémon GO.

Life Tap is the warlock Hero Power. Is causes the warlock to draw a card from their deck, at the additional cost of 2 Health.
Life Tap deals damage, and resolves on-damage triggers, before drawing a card.
Justicar Trueheart can replace this power with Soul Tap, removing the damage/health "cost" from its effect.
Prophet Velen is a legendary priest minion card, from the Classic set.
Prophet Velen can dramatically increase the priest's effectiveness in the late-game. His passive affects the priest's spells as well as their Hero Power.
This bonus works with all Hero Powers, including doubling the damage of Steady Shot, Fireblast, Life Tap, and DIE, INSECT!, as well as the Hero Powers granted by Justicar Trueheart, Shadowform and Charged Hammer. Note that the doubled damage on Life Tap is usually a bad thing.
This card should be considered to have a soft taunt. Your enemy will go to great lengths to kill Velen due to the power he brings in the late game. Be prepared to protect him with taunt minions, healing or divine shields.
