Donald Mustard ครีเอทีฟไดเรคเตอร์ของ Epic Games กล่าวว่า ความคิดในการปล่อยตัวอย่าง TENET ในเกมนั้นเกิดขึ้นจากการสนทนาระหว่างผู้พัฒนาและผู้กำกับว่า "เราทุกคนชอบที่จะได้เห็นตัวอย่างใหม่ ๆ ในโรงภาพยนตร์ แต่ในช่วงเวลานี้ ไม่สามารถทำอย่างนั้นได้ วิธีนี้จึงเป็ฯวิธีที่น่าสนใจและแปลกใหม่ในตอนนี้"
