We baked a quick cake by placing Oreo Cookies on a baking tray and pouring cake batter over them. Following our Kiwi Fruit Cake, this is another quick cake that needs no decoration. The blue coloring comes from butterfly pea powder. Oreos go quite well with blue!
*Recipe*
1. Spread an oven sheet in a 27cm square baking tray and lightly coat with vegetable oil.
2. Line up Oreo Vanilla Cream and Oreo Bits Sandwich Vanilla.
3. Slowly add 2g of butterfly pea powder to 50g of milk microwaved to 45 degrees and mix it so lumps don't form. Keep it cool.
4. Mix 40g of vegetable oil with 3.
5. Mix and sift 48g of weak flour and 25g of skimmed milk.
6. Whisk while pouring 55g granulated sugar to 5 egg whites to make a hard meringue.
7. Divide 6 several times and put into 5.
Properly mix in the first meringue. After that, gently mix so as to not erase bubbles.
8. Pour 7 into 2 and flatten.
9. Reduce the temperature of the preheated oven from 190 to 170 and bake for 13 minutes and 30 seconds. I turned it around because the oven at my home bakes very unevenly.
10. When it's baked, cover with an oven sheet so it does not dry when turning over and cooling down. Cool it down.
11. Pour 200ml of fresh cream in 15g of sugar, add 15g of sweetened condensed milk, then whisk. (about 50g excess)
12. Slice 10 into 3 equal parts.
13. Coat 11 and layer.
14. Refrigerate overnight.
15. Heat a knife with warm water, wipe away the moisture, and slice off the four sides.
6. Finished.
Air pockets easily form around the Oreo so be careful! We believe that it's best to put the batter in a pastry bag and pour it around the Oreo. At our house we store extra egg whites in the refrigerator, so we used those to make this cake.
この前はキウイでやったけど今回はやっぱりオレオで。いきなり天板にオレオクリームサンドクッキーを置いて、生地を流し込み焼いたケーキ作りました。デコいらずな いきなりケーキ、キウイフルーツに続いて第2弾です。バタフライピーパウダーで青く着色してみました。オレオは青と相性がいい。
*レシピ*
1.27センチのスクエア天板にオーブンシートを敷き、薄くサラダ油を塗る
2.オレオバニラクリームとオレオビッツサンドバニラを並べる。
3.バタフライピーパウダー 2gに電子レンジで45度に温めた牛乳 50gを少しずつ加え、ダマがデキないように混ぜる。冷ましておく。
4.サラダ油 40gに3を入れ混ぜる。
5.薄力粉 48gとスキムミルク 25gを合わせてフルイ入れ混ぜる。
6.卵白 5個分をグラニュー糖 55gを入れながら泡立て、かたいメレンゲを作る。
7.6を数回に分け5に入れる。
1回目のメレンゲはしっかりと混ぜ込む。後は泡を消さないようにふんわり混ぜる。
8.2にに7を流し入れ平らにする。
9.190度に予熱したオーブンを170度に温度を下げ、13分30秒 焼く。我が家のオーブンは焼きムラが大きいので途中前後を入れ替えました。
10.焼きあがったらオーブンシートを被せ ひっくり返し粗熱が取れたら乾かないようにオーブンシートをかけ、冷ます。
11.生クリーム 200mlに砂糖 15g、加糖練乳 15gを入れ泡立てる。(50gほど余りました)
12.10を3等分に切る。
13.11を塗り、重ねる。
14.冷蔵庫で一晩冷やす。
15.お湯で温めたナイフの水分を拭き取り、四方を切り落とす。
16.できあがり。
オレオの周りは空気の穴ができやすいので、気をつけて!生地を絞り袋に入れ、オレオの周りから流し入れるとベストだと思います。我が家では余った卵白を冷凍庫で保存してあり、今回も解凍した卵白を使って作りました。

Katsu Curry (we call it Katsu Kare) is Japanese curry and rice with Tonkatsu (pork cutlet). I received many requests for this recipe, so I finally cooked it :D
Instead making regular Tonkatsu, I made it with cheese in between. Yummy :)

Katsu Curry
Difficulty: Medium

Number of servings: 6
Ingredients:
((Cheese Tonkatsu))
12 thinly sliced pork for Shogayaki (ginger pork)
2 slices of cheese
salt and cracked black pepper
* flour
* beaten egg
* Panko (bread crumbs)
vegetable oil for frying
((Katsu Curry and Rice))
6 Tonkatsu
150g (5.3oz.) thinly sliced pork
300g (10.5oz.) onion
250g (8.8oz.) potato
120g (4.2oz.) carrot
850cc water
115g (4.4oz.) House Vermont Curry (medium hot) *Japanese curry roux
1 tbsp. cooking oil
6 servings steamed Japanese white rice
Fukujinzuke (relish for Japanese curry) if preferred
parsley flakes
Directions:
((Cheese Tonkatsu))
1. Cut each sliced cheese into three. Sandwich the cheese with 2 slices of pork for each Tonkatsu and season both sides with salt and pepper.
2. Flour the pork lightly, dip in beaten egg, then coat with Panko. Use one hand for coating flour and Panko, and use the other to dip in egg to keep one of your hands dry.
3. Fry them in oil at 170C (340F) until cooked golden brown. (Turn the pork over to cook evenly.) Remove the Tonkatsu from the oil and drain.
((Katsu Curry and Rice))
1. Use House Vermont Curry (medium hot) or you can substitute it with any other Japanese curry roux!
2. Cut thinly sliced pork into bite size pieces. Slice onion. Cut potato and carrot into bite-size pieces.
3. Heat cooking oil in a large stew pot, saute the sliced onion over medium heat until it softens. Then add the pork.
4. When pork is cooked, add potato and carrot, add 850cc water, bring to a boil, skim the scum, cover, and turn the heat down to low and cook for about 15 minutes. (You can add a consomme cube and/or laurel leave if you prefer.)
5. Turn off the heat, add House Vermont Curry (medium hot) curry roux, and mix well until completely melted. Then put on the heat and simmer for about 7 minutes until thickened.
6. Cut Tonkatsu into bite size pieces.
7. Serve curry on a hot bed of rice and Tonkatsu pieces, sprinkle parsley flakes, and garnish with Fukujinzuke if desired.
