Bonjour! Have arrived in Paris on an official visit to France at the invitation of President Emmanuel Macron.

France was one of the first countries to recognise Singapore’s independence in 1965. Since then, France has become one of our Strategic Partners. We have strong cooperation in many areas – economy, defence, education, and people-to-people ties.

I am honoured to be attending the Bastille Day Military Parade (France’s NDP) as Guest-of-Honour. Look forward to seeing The Republic of Singapore Air Force M-346s and the Singapore flag 🇸🇬 flying during the parade. Japan PM Shinzo Abe was supposed to be a fellow Guest-of-Honour. Unfortunately he had to cancel because of the floods in western Japan. I had written to Mr Abe earlier to offer help in the relief efforts. Am confident that the Japanese people will overcome this disaster with fortitude. – LHL

【第74屆坎城影展主競賽、一種注目等完整入選名單】

．
遭受COVID-19疫情影響，去年坎城影展停辦一年。今年展期則延至7月6日舉辦，大會在方才仍公開了本屆的官方選片。在主競賽單元部分，魏斯．安德森、阿斯哈．法哈蒂、歐容、南尼．莫瑞提、布魯諾．杜蒙、阿比查邦、那達夫．拉匹、濱口龍介、西恩．潘等名導之作都順利入選。

洪常秀、阿諾．戴普勒尚等名導則未如事前各界預料，沒有進入主競賽，被安排在「首映單元」。至於在「一種注目」部分，奧地利籍華裔導演陳熠霖的《尋找》順利入選，該片由台灣影星柯震東、林哲熹與中國演員曾美慧孜主演，拍攝地點即在台灣。作品《構築心方向 Columbus》（2017）曾來過台北電影節放映的韓裔美籍導演Kogonada也入選該單元。中國導演那嘉佐也以《街娃兒》入選。

本屆的評審團主席將是美國導演史派克．李（Spike Lee），開幕片將是李歐．卡霍的《Annette》，該片同時也是競賽片。美國影星茱蒂．佛斯特（Jodie Foster）則獲得相當於終身成就獎的榮譽金棕櫚殊榮。

Coupe du Monde de la Boulangerie 2020 part 2 / ＃2020世界盃麵包大賽決賽照片集錦part2 (English below)

最後一部份的照片來了！包括之前被迫撤下的台灣隊與國旗、作品的合照，以及最後一天賽事中的四隊隊伍的作品：中國（冠軍）、丹麥（季軍）、哥斯大黎加、埃及。

我為冠軍的作品特別多拍了幾張，讓大家可以看看細節的呈現。一定要知道得獎的作品與自己的實力差在哪裡，才有進步的空間。

過去幾天內收到許多留言與私訊，謝謝大家的鼓勵，我也已經將大家的心意轉給台灣隊，希望他們能夠再接再厲。此次也一路陪伴著選手的吳寶春師傅在搭機回台前特地和我說，他們 #一回台灣就會立刻召開教練團會議，#接下來會立刻改變訓練方向與策略，希望能再次證明台灣烘焙的實力。

另外我一定要在這裡澄清一點，我在這次比賽中做的所有報導全部都是忠實呈現在賽場上發生的事件。上一篇就算情緒高昂了一些，也只有寫出事實。評審做了什麼樣的判斷、有什麼樣的喜好我們不得而知。我沒有任何攻擊中國隊、煽動仇中的意思，也絕對沒有暗示中國隊不應該得冠軍、以及忽視對岸飛躍進步的實力。

我希望呈現的是，台灣隊在使用台灣的名字、以及在場上呈現自己與作品時所受到的不公正的待遇：

1. 所有官方網站與文件上寫的都是 Chine Taipei / China Taipei，即「#中國台北」，甚至在公佈決賽結果的網頁寫的是「Chine (Taipei)」，即「中國（台北）」）。僅在台灣隊參加比賽的當天現場改為「Chinese Taipei」（中華台北），但其他地方一切沒有更改。在此之前的每一屆賽事，台灣都是使用台灣的名字出賽。

2. 台灣是 #12個參賽隊伍中唯一一個不能攜帶國旗上台、#也不能講自己國家名稱的隊伍，選手接受訪問與發表作品時，都只能用「my home country / mon pays d'origine」，即「#我的家鄉」代替。

這和主辦單位的處理方式有關，所以我已經和黃偈（黃先生的甜點日記（Dessert diary） 一起在主辦方的文章下方留言：https://tinyurl.com/rvpyns7，我認為如果沒有得到足夠的關注，將來會有更多不公平的事情發生。我在法國生活多年的血淚史得到最大的教訓就是「 #遇到不公平的事一定要發聲，不然沒有人會理你」。

#我的初衷是希望選手跟教練能得到更多支持，#能夠安心比賽發揮自己的實力，如果因此被誤會為玻璃心、輸不起，或甚至認為因為這樣的發聲反而害台灣隊沒有得到好名次的話，只能說非常遺憾，我以後不會再用台灣人的感情去報導台灣的賽事，而僅會用專業記者與自媒體的角度和大家分享所見所聞。

希望這是最後一次針對這個比賽發表相關評論，之後會有更多甜點專業的消息和大家分享！

Last photos of the 2020 World Bakery Cup. Have a close look on the wonderful work of the last four teams (China, Denmark, Costa Rica, Egypt)!

I've chosen to shown more photos of the work from the Chinese team as they've won the championship and I guess everyone is curious about how it is like.

I would like to clarify one thing here that I've never wanted to attack the Chinese team or tried to hint that their work is not good enough to get won the 1st place. Everything that I've written is based on facts and what has happened during the contest. And I want to bring your attention to the regrettable event that there is a team that was not treated fairly:

1. Taiwan is marked as "Chine Taipei / China Taipei" (or even Chine (Taipei) / China (Taipei)) everywhere on the official website and printed materials of the competition,

2. Taiwan team WAS NOT ALLOWED to use and speak of its name. The candidates could only talk about "my home country / mon pays d'origine" to avoid mentioning TAIWAN, and

3. Taiwan team is the team that WAS NOT ALLOWED to bring its national flag to the competition and the award ceremony.

What I've learned from my experiences of living in France is that you have to speak up for yourself. Nothing is taken for granted. In my opinion, this event took place in a country with beliefs in liberté, égalité, and fraternité (freedom, equality, and fraternity) is a real irony.

I wish our candidates and coaches will get more support from whether within the island or internationally and get to stand out on the global stage where they only need to worry about if they're doing their best. If that intention is interpreted as a sore loser's mentality or is even taken as the origin of getting more unfair treatment which resulted in not getting the prize, I find it regrettable as well. From now on, I won't be reporting any international contests from the perspective as a Taiwanese, but from the perspective of a professional journalist.

I hope this is the last post that I share about this contest. I can't wait to share with you more exciting news of pastries and my future projects!

It was raining when I went to Taipei this time. My shoes were a bit broken. If I want to buy a new shoes, I would like to change to a pair of fashionable and durable green vegan shoes, so I found FYE - For Your Earth in Taichung. This is a brand co-operated by France and Taiwan, designed by the French and developed by Taiwanese. So the shoes are made in Taiwan (the factory is in Taichung), and there is a small French flag behind the shoes~

The shoes are made of recycled plastic bottles, so they are very light to wear; the inside of the shoes are made of organic cotton, so you will feel very comfortable to walk; the bottom of the shoes are made of recycled old shoes, so you can enjoy a NT100 discount if you gave them your old shoes.

這次去到台北時一直下雨，害我的鞋子有點壞了，既然要換新鞋子，就不如換一雙既時尚又耐穿的環保鞋吧，所以我找到了在台中的 FYE - For Your Earth，這是一個由法國和台灣共同合作的品牌，由法國人設計，台灣人研發。所以鞋子是台灣製造 (工廠就在台中)，鞋跟後面還有個小小法國國旗呢~

鞋子是用回收的膠樽 (寶特瓶) 製造，所以穿起來很輕盈；內裡選用有機綿，因此走起路來特別舒適；鞋底竟然是用回收的舊鞋子做的，所以你也可以把舊鞋拿去店裡，買新鞋子時可以當 NT100 元使用呢~
