On this day, “11/11”, I want to talk about God wanting oneness.
“Not for these only do I pray, but for those also who believe in me through their word, that they may all be one; even as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be one in us; that the world may believe that you sent me. The glory which you have given me, I have given to them; that they may be one, even as we are one; I in them, and you in me, that they may be perfected into one; that the world may know that you sent me, and loved them, even as you loved me.” (John 17:20-23 WEB)
The one true God wants to be one with us, firstly by uniting the Holy Spirit with our spirit.
This happens when we place our faith in the one great High Priest and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Then He wants the body of Christ to live as one family, in harmony and love.
Jesus is the Bridegroom of one bride—the body of Christ.
We are going to live on one new earth.
On the new earth, we are going to live in one eternal city: the New Jerusalem.
God’s desire for oneness with us is because of love.
One. One. One! ONE!
Let’s walk in love and trust the Holy Spirit to guide us out of endless disputes and divisions.
All of us who believe in Jesus are one family: all children of God!

Waiting for our Bridegroom
“In my Father’s house are many homes. If it weren’t so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and will receive you to myself; that where I am, you may be there also.” (John 14:2-3 WEB)
The passage above is Jesus speaking to the disciples. It sounds like the loving words of a bridegroom to his bride, because it is.
In Jewish custom, the bridegroom would prepare a honeymoon/nuptial room in his father’s house before fetching the bride there on a day that she doesn’t know. She only knows the approximate period where he will come, but not the exact day or hour.
Look at the sequence of events: 1) Jesus goes back to Heaven to prepare a place for the disciples, 2) He will come again to receive the disciples to Himself, 3) The disciples will finally be where He is in Heaven, in His Father’s house.
I believe that the disciples and all saints who are in Heaven at the moment, are not yet where Jesus is, in the temple of God in the highest part of Heaven.
There is a mountain of God there, the true Zion, where the true temple stands. Everything on earth in Jerusalem was built to reflect the heavenly truth. Even the location of the temple, the layout etc.
The mountain of God is off-limits to the spirits of the saints at the moment, but when Jesus comes again to receive His saints to Himself at the Rapture, we will be resurrected, receive our glorified bodies, and join Him in the highest part of Heaven to meet Abba God.
It’s not that we are not cleansed perfectly or not holy enough yet to approach God’s throne in Heaven. Our born-again spirits are already perfectly righteous and holy. But there is a right timing for the bride to meet the bridegroom.
We are waiting for Jesus to receive us to Himself, and we will join Him up there in our glorified bodies, not in spirit form.
The Jewish wedding customs give us clear sequence of the Biblical events to come.
About one week before the wedding, the bridegroom and bride don’t meet, to keep themselves ceremonially holy and to increase the anticipation for each other. This period represents our current time, where we are still eagerly waiting for Jesus’ return for His redeemed saints.
Even the spirits of saints in Heaven are also waiting for the Rapture so they can finally meet Jesus face to face.
Next in the heavenly wedding agenda is Jesus coming to catch us up to the air to meet with Him there, in the Rapture (harpazo).
Just picture a strong bridegroom lifting the bride off her feet, carrying her in his arms as she wraps her arms around his neck. That’s the romantic picture of the Rapture.
Then, in Jewish weddings, the bridegroom and bride will have a private wedding ceremony, followed by a honeymoon in the nuptial room prepared in the father’s house.
This honeymoon is the seven-years period of the Tribulation. While the world is going through the Tribulation, the Raptured saints will be safe in Heaven, enjoying closeness with Jesus.
After that, the bridegroom and bride will have a marriage supper to celebrate their new marital union with their family and friends. Many wedding guests are invited.
This is a picture of the marriage supper of the Lamb which will take place on earth, at the beginning of the Millennial Reign of Christ.
Jesus will come back to earth with us, to destroy the Antichrist and his wicked armies, and we will move into our marital home: Jerusalem. That’s where the Marriage Supper of the Lamb is going to be held, and also when we will stand before Jesus’ throne to receive our eternal rewards.
If you look at the Bible for what it really is, it is actually a love story. A story of a Father seeking a pure, beautiful and holy bride for His beloved Son who wants someone to lavish His love upon. If you miss this overarching theme of love, you have missed the entire point of the Bible.
Did you know that the Bible gives us some of the layout of Heaven and important geographical aspects of it? In the meantime, all saints are waiting for the Rapture in Paradise in the third heaven.

Where is Jesus Now?
“Father, I desire that they also whom you have given me be with me where I am, that they may see my glory, which you have given me, for you loved me before the foundation of the world.” (John 17:24 WEB)
The day is coming whereby Jesus’ prayer request in the verse above will be fulfilled.
We, the church (bride of the Lamb) will be received by our heavenly bridegroom into His Father’s house.
How amazing it will be to live where Jesus is, to see His glory in person.
Did you know that even the apostles who have since fallen asleep in death are not yet exactly where Jesus is?

Jesus resides with Abba God in the sanctuary that is on the Mount Zion in the Heavenly Jerusalem. That is the location of God’s throne.
The Jerusalem on earth is actually a miniature mirror image of the Jerusalem above. Even the layout is the same—God made sure this was so.
None of the saints are there in the sanctuary yet. Those who are dead in Christ are in a part of Heaven called Paradise which is the garden of God.
“I know a man in Christ, fourteen years ago (whether in the body, I don’t know, or whether out of the body, I don’t know; God knows), such a one caught up into the third heaven. I know such a man (whether in the body, or outside of the body, I don’t know; God knows), how he was caught up into Paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.” (2 Corinthians 12:2-4 WEB)
In the original Greek, the word is Paradeison which means “a pleasure garden”. In Hebrew, the name is translated as “Gan Eden”, which is literally the Garden of Eden. Eden also means “pleasure”. Both the Greek and Hebrew agree that it is the Garden of Eden.
So that is where the Garden of Eden and the tree of life went! It was translated up to Heaven, protecting the tree of life from the world-destroying flood, and is now used as a waiting area for the saints.
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the Paradise of my God.” (Revelation 2:7 WEB)
We see that this is true. The Holy Spirit testifies that the tree of life is now in the Paradise (Garden of Eden) in Heaven. The cherubim with fiery swords who guard the entrance to the garden do not stop the saints there from accessing the tree of life!
The dead in Christ are still waiting for the Rapture so that they can receive their glorified bodies and finally be where Jesus is.
If what I’m saying is not true, then Jesus would not have said to the apostles, “I will come again, and will receive you to myself; that where I am, you may be there also.”
We know that the apostles who heard these words spoken by Jesus have already fallen asleep in death.
This promise will be fulfilled at the Rapture. The Lord will come back, and in the air, He will receive us to Himself. The apostles and all the saints will receive glorified bodies, and we will finally be with Jesus!
These days, I find myself reading and re-reading the four gospels a lot because I love to read Jesus’ words and read about Him in action. Such a perfect, wonderful God-Man, and He is our Lord.

But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God. After this, Jesus and his disciples went out into the Judean countryside, where he spent some time with them, and baptized. Now John also was baptizing at Aenon near Salim, because there was plenty of water, and people were coming and being baptized. (This was before John was put in prison.) An argument developed between some of John’s disciples and a certain Jew over the matter of ceremonial washing. The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom’s voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete.
