🔺US Secretary of Health and Human Services Alex Azar II and Under Secretary of State Keith Krach visited Taiwan
🔺 The inaugural US-Taiwan Economic Prosperity Partnership Dialogue
🔺 Joint initiatives on #education, #science and #technology and cooperation in infrastructure financing in #NewSouthboundPolicy countries
🔺 Seven virtual Global Cooperation and Training Framework workshops

2⃣ Pandemic-Prevention Performance
🔺 𝟓𝟎 million✨ surgical face masks and other #PPE donated to over 𝟖𝟎✨ countries around the world
🔺 Increased engagement with other countries on pandemic-prevention cooperation

🔺 European #FormosaClub expanded its ranks to over 100 members from over 10 countries
🔺 Taiwan-friendly parliamentarians in #LatinAmerica and #Africa established their own chapters, with 144 members from 17 countries and 181 members from 29 countries respectively
🔺 The Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China (#IPAC) expressed support for Taiwan and for the Taiwan Model of pandemic prevention
🔺 𝟏,𝟕𝟎𝟎✨ parliamentarians from over 𝟖𝟎✨ countries called for Taiwan’s inclusion in the #WHO during the resumed WHO session

＃Parliamentarians for Peace

今天從一早開始工作，一直到剛剛才結束。雖然累，但，最後這兩個半小時的跨國線上會議，讓人非常興奮。

這是從八月中下旬開始一週兩次的會議，我們這十四位來自不同國家的國會議員，克服著時差聚在一起開會，有時也會加入幾位國際重量級貴賓分析議題。

我目前全勤出席😄

今天晚上的會議中，主持人希望我們每個成員都選一個自己認為最重要的議題。

很多人說是國民的well-being(福祉)，也有人說是要重整聯合國，問到我時，我說：
對於台灣而言，很難只選一個。對我來說，所有公民的well-being，和控制衝突的發生（conflict resolution），兩者同樣重要。

如果是你，會選什麼呢？

至於我們在一起開會，到底要做什麼，容我再保密一段時間！

美國在台協會經濟組副組長邵靄帝女士在台灣全球連結發展協會 (Crossroads) 於6月30日 由所舉辦的「高等教育在推展國家創新生態圈所扮演的重要角色」論壇中。和大家分享了美國的創新經驗。其他參與討論的貴賓包括了台灣的數位政委唐鳳政委、台灣大學管中閔校長、以及以色列的海法大學 Ron Robin 校長。邵副組長討論了矽谷與美國大學科技聚落在促進數位世界創新發想的重要角色。邵副組長指出，創新、科技與高等教育是美台關係的重要核心，特別是透過我們在數位經濟論壇、人才循環大聯盟，以及全球合作訓練計畫的合作，這也是美台「共同努力，共同得益」的例證。

AIT’s Deputy Economic Chief shared the U.S. innovation experience at a June 30 forum on “The Importance of Higher Education in Driving A National Innovation Ecosystem” hosted by Taiwan-based organization Crossroads. Participating alongside Digital Minister Audrey Tang, President of National Taiwan University Dr. Kuan Chung-ming, and the University of Haifa’s Professor Ron Robin, Ms. Shroff discussed the prominent role of Silicon Valley and U.S. university tech clusters in bringing about new ideas and inventions across the digital world. Innovation, technology, and higher education remains at the core of the U.S.-Taiwan economic relationship, especially through collaborative efforts including the Digital Economy Forum, the Talent Circulation Alliance, and the Global Cooperation Training Framework, Ms. Shroff highlighted. # Strive Together, Thrive Together.
