It’s funny how when you have a baby, all of your focus turns to that little nugget. And even though we go through life doing some of the same things we always do, your attitude is slightly different…
我的飲食習慣也有一點改變,會挑比較健康的食物因為我還在親餵,所以我希望Egan喝的母奶是最有營養的。但,我該吃健康點其實也是為了我自己的健康。
Now, when I eat now, I try and eat healthily because I’m breastfeeding and so I want my baby to get as “healthy” a milk as possible. But really, I should eat well, well, for myself.
我現在吃維他命的時候,是希望我可以維持體力、腦力和精神,所以我跟Egan在一起的時候是給他我的百分之百。但,我該吃維他命其實也是為了自己,畢竟吃完身體會感覺比較好。
Now, when I take vitamins, it’s because I want keep healthy so that I have the strength, love and attention necessary to be 100% with Egan when we are together. But really, I should take vitamins because it’s my body that feels better when I do.
我現在運動的時候,是因為我希望我有力氣把Egan抬起來然後以後他可以跑的時候有力氣追著他跑來跑去。但,我該運動,其實也是因為我喜歡而且是為了自己身體好!
Now, when I exercise, It’s because I want to have the strength to lift up Egan with my arms and energy to run around and chase after him when he learns how to run. But really, I should exercise, because, well, I like it AND it’s good for ME.
我現在洗澡的時候,是因為我突然記得我好像好久沒有洗澡了然後我應該為了寶寶的健康,不把灰塵和細菌傳給他,還有我不想嚇死George。 但,我應該洗澡其實也是因為,呃⋯⋯比較衛生。
Now, when I shower, it’s only after I realize it’s been a couple days since I’ve showered and I should probably keep myself slightly clean so that I don’t pass any germs or dirt onto my baby. (And so that I don’t scare George away.) But really, I should shower because, uh, it’s hygienic.
我現在睡覺的時候,我睡的像豬一樣。Egan對不起,哈哈。能睡覺的話,就是完整的媽媽自己的時間。
Now, when I sleep, I sleep like a pig. Haha. Sorry, Egan. Sleeping is mommy time.
現在基本上我已經習慣我是個媽媽然後有寶寶。所以我終於可以真正的開始照顧自己多一點:我可以開始為自己梳頭髮 (而且不只是為了把黏在頭髮上乾掉的奶或是沒有吃完不小心掉到頭髮裡面的食物梳開),我可以開始整理我的手指頭(而且不只是把寶寶的大便從指甲挖出來⋯⋯沒錯,噁⋯⋯但是這個就是媽媽的生活!)
But now that I’m pretty much used to the fact that I have a baby and I’m a mom, it’s FINALLY time for me to take care of myself again. I can start to brush my hair again (and not only to get bits and pieces of dried milk or food chunks out of it). I can start taking care of my nails again (and not just to get bits baby poop out from in between my nails. EWWWW.. Yes, this is the life of a mommy.)
我不可能回到以前的我,其實我也不想。我現在就是不一樣了,我是一個媽媽。我有一個比我還重要的生命要照顧了。但是,雖然我們不一樣了,但我們還是可以讓自己維持心裡年輕,外表閃亮!所以,敬 #漂亮頭髮 #健康指甲 #好皮膚 #年輕 的自己,乾杯!
I can’t go back to the person I was before, nor do I want to. I am different now. I am a mom. I have something (someone) who is more important than me to take care of. 【一起湊米氣】阿媽話白飯正氣無講錯
#紅米糙米十穀米各有優缺點
#切忌食用過量以致消化不良

近年越來越多人關注食物營養健康,購買食物時都追求「三低一高」,即是低脂、低鹽、低糖及高纖,以致有人認為經過精製的白米無益,改吃紅米、糙米、黑米、十穀米等粗糧。
白米在加工過程中經過精磨、去掉外層部分,白米所含的植物性蛋白質及纖維量的確較其它種類米為低,但根據中醫理論,白米具有補氣養脾胃、除煩渴、長肌肉及止腹瀉的功效,而且因為已去掉粗糙的外殼,容易消化,尤其適合小朋友、老人家及脾胃虛弱人士食用,但由於碳水化合物含量高,糖尿病人士要控制進食份量。
而各種米飯各有功效,宜配合體質食用發揮最大功效,紅米、糙米、十穀米適合糖尿、貧血、肥胖和便秘人士食用,但痛風症者則不宜。
再有益的食物,進食過量都會有反效果,香港人普遍脾胃虛弱,不建議吃全紅米、糙米飯,恐怕會導致噁氣胃脹,一開始宜十份白米溝一份紅米/糙米,當腸胃適應後再調節比例。
食白飯好悶?煮白米飯都可以有好多變化,周末試煮以下這款簡單又美味的有味飯!
簡易栗子雞脾菇飯
材料:去皮栗子50克、雞脾菇1塊、紅蘿蔔半條、白米1杯、昆布3片、生抽1茶匙、味醂1湯匙、水1杯、鹽少許
做法:
1. 將材料洗淨,雞脾菇切件,栗子切半;紅蘿蔔切件。
2. 全部材料放入電飯煲中拌勻,按掣煮飯。
3. 飯煮熟後,取出昆布拌勻即成。
Refined white rice is low in fiber without nutrients?
A lot of people are trying to eat more healthily, and they go for low fat, low sodium, low sugar and high fiber food. Many also consider refined white rice to have zero nutrients and opt for red rice, brown rice, black rice, or ten grain rice.
During the processing of white rice, the outer layer is removed reducing the contents of plant proteins and fiber compared to other grains. White rice, however, replenishes qi and nourishes spleen and stomach, promote muscle development, and relieve diarrhea. As the outer layer is removed, white rice is easier to digest and more suitable for children, elderlies, and those with asthenic spleen and stomach. As white rice is high in carbohydrates, those with diabetes should consume as appropriate.
Different rice have different healing effects and should be consumed based on body constitution. Red rice, brown rice and ten grain rice are suitable for those with diabetes, anemia, obesity and constipation, but not suitable for those with chonic pain.
Over consumption of any healthy foods can have negative effects. Most Hong Kong people have asthenic spleen and stomach, so it is not recommended to only have red rice or brown rice as it may lead to abdominal bloating. It is recommended to have 10 to 1 portion of white rice to red or brown rice to start and let your digestive system adjust slowly.

Simple king oyster mushroom rice with chestnuts
Ingredients: 50g peeled chestnuts, 1 king oyster mushroom, half a carrot, 1 cup white rice, 3 kombu, 1 teaspoon light soy sauce, 1 tablespoon mirin, 1 cup of water, salt
Preparation:
1. Rinse all ingredients thoroughly. Slice king oyster mushroom, cut chestnuts in half, slice carrot.
2. Place all ingredients into rice cooker and mix well. Turn on rice cooker.
3. Once rice is cooked, take out kombu.

There are many factors that can cause constipation, some of the most common reasons include severe stress, a poor diet, lack of exercise, lack of sleep, dehydration, and even a change of environment or time zone due to travelling.
I’m sure when you’ve been constipated for several days, your abdomen feels bloated and extremely uncomfortable, making you agitated, and even moody. Watch this video to learn how frequently you should go to the toilet and 7 tips to help relieve constipation naturally!
1) Drink warm water
2) Drink a cup of coffee
3) Have a consistent poop routine
4) Adjust your toilet posture
5) Increase your fibre intake, but don't over do it!
6) Eat pre & probiotic foods
7) Exercise regularly
Occasional constipation is normal, but if you experience pain every time you go then speak to your doctor if you’re concerned about your ongoing constipation.
