A few days ago during an interview, I got asked what I thought of the current local music industry favouring looks over talent.

My answer?

I have and always will be an avid fan of talent rather than looks!

Sure, some people are just blessed with the whole package and also if the industry is willing to invest on their looks rather than talent.

One thing, is that we live in a visually driven world now, we like things and people who look certain ways and/or how may followers we garner on our social medias.

BUT if we keep on searching for the aesthetically pleasing qualities, we might lose out on ACTUAL talent!

Music is audio, music is unseen because it is felt. When you listen to it in your headphones and close your eyes, it could be sung by anyone because in the end of the day, we musicians are just vessels and the gift and talent of music does not care about how one looks when it chooses you.

I'm all for being on the otherside of the mindset of looks over talent. I've never been a person even in choosing a partner who cares about your outer vessel.

The gift of music is a lot like falling in LOVE. REAL LOVE, where you never know what your real life partner will look like. And most of the times, they're not what you expect. 😊💐 Music is my longest relationship, and neither it nor I care about how you look.

FUN FACT: Back in school, I was not accepted into the choir club because I wasn't pretty enough. Sure, their excuse was that they were "full", but I knew, also I was later told this. Yup.
If anyone's ever made you feel like you're not pretty or good looking enough to do anything, especially music, WE (music and I) will always have your back!

Music is healing, music is divine and sacred.

Most of all, MUSIC IS FUN! SO HAVE A BLAST!
