Go behind the scenes to discover the complex savoir-faire of the timeless black leather version of the 'Lady Dior' on.dior.com/ladydior, the House's most iconic bag. Starting in the design studio, the action moves to the ateliers where only the most flawless leather is chosen to be quilted with the characteristic Cannage motif, before the construction of the handles, and the addition of gold embossing, hand painting and the emblematic letter charms, a subtle allusion to Monsieur Dior's superstitious nature.

Uncover the fabled Dior savoir-faire behind the new 'Dior Caro' on.dior.com/dior-caro shoulder bag from the Cruise 2021 collection by Maria Grazia Chiuri and named after Monsieur Dior's beloved younger sister, Catherine. Starting from a detailed sketch in the design studio, the action moves to the House's specialized ateliers where the leather pieces are cut out and the geometric quilted Cannage effect is carefully created with some 18,000 stitches. Details such as hand-painted edges and gold-leaf stamping are followed by the '30 Montaigne' embossing before the body of the bag is finished and metal elements – including the characteristic 'CD' twist clasp and chain strap – are attached.
