There's a general consensus that Singapore's hawker food is bad. And this is a sentiment that I heard from mostly Malaysians yes, but also some Singaporean friends.

Well, I beg to differ tho! Just like in Malaysia you need to know where to go. And of course, Singapore's food outlets and food courts are cleaner so perhaps that gritty vibe that we are used to is missing so the dining experience might turn out less "exciting".
Personally there are some hawker food that I enjoy in SG like the SG hokkien mee, bak chor mee, chicken rice, fishballs and their chap fun.
Undeniably Penang food is still superior in Penang.
SG don't have our Ipoh kai see hor fun and chee cheong fun so Ipoh continue to reign supreme for that. However SG does have good soybean products and their dim sum is pretty tasty.
So yea, we have more variety since we have 13 states plus the fact that we are a bigger country, but it is an unfair sweeping statement to say SG hawker is "terrible". 😀
Oh, would you agree that SG's McD, KFC, Subway and Burger King offer better options than Malaysia's? :P
