The #Belgium🇧🇪 parliament's Chamber of Representatives passed a resolution that called on the country's government to support #Taiwan's democratic development and its meaningful participation in international organizations just before the parliamentary recess. 130 representatives voted for the proposition, with no-one voting against and 13 abstentions.
This move follows on from a 2015 resolution in support of Taiwan’s calls for regional peace, the signing of a bilateral investment agreement, and Taiwan’s meaningful participation in international organizations, among other things.
It’s telling that the legislators made time during the #COVID19 pandemic to make this significant gesture to safeguard our #SharedValues of #democracy, #freedom and #HumanRights!
