本週漏網東西軍角逐的選項是:「麵包糖超標」vs.「刺青被調職」。經過24小時的刺激票選之後呢,「刺青被調職」獲得53.7%的票數。
今天的主角是法國巴黎一個幼兒園老師,因為身上大面積的刺青遭到家長投訴,說他害小孩做噩夢,這位法國男老師名叫海蘭(Sylvain Helaine),是法國頗具名氣的刺青藝術家,他8年來,花了460小時,共5.7萬歐元(197萬台幣)在刺青上,而且他不只是全身上下布滿刺青,就連眼白也透過「人體改造」手術(Body Modification)染成黑色的,看起來很像外星人。海蘭還有另一個身分,就是老師,他在一間設有幼兒園的小學教書,學生年齡從2歲到11歲都有。不過就在去年年底,一名孩童的家長向教育當局抱怨,說他家的3歲小朋友在學校裡看見海蘭後,被嚇到一連做了好幾晚的惡夢。結果幾個月後海蘭就被校方調離幼兒園,只讓他接觸6歲以上的大童,讓海蘭非常難過。
可是海蘭的學生真的有被他嚇到嗎?還是根本就只是家長大驚小怪?其實海蘭自己有提到,每次剛入學的新生第一次見到海蘭的時候,確實都會被他的外表嚇一跳,但過沒多久,小朋友們就會意識到海蘭就是一個很普通的老師,就有他的學生說:「任何人都不該光憑海蘭的外貌就下評論,他只是眼睛很可怕而已,其實人很好。」海蘭說其實真正會對他有意見或是有所顧忌的,反而是「別班小朋友的家長」,過去他還曾經被一個只是在網路上看到他的照片的家長莫名其妙投訴,導致他必須被調離班級七週。
從海蘭的故事我們可以知道,刻板印象真的很難被打破,但我們希望透過今天的討論,讓大家更願意敞開心胸,接納並尊重與自己不一樣的人。

How to Tame the Tongue
“For in many things we all stumble. If anyone doesn’t stumble in word, the same is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body also. Indeed, we put bits into the horses’ mouths so that they may obey us, and we guide their whole body. Behold, the ships also, though they are so big and are driven by fierce winds, are yet guided by a very small rudder, wherever the pilot desires. So the tongue is also a little member, and boasts great things. See how a small fire can spread to a large forest! And the tongue is a fire. The world of iniquity among our members is the tongue, which defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature, and is set on fire by Gehenna. For every kind of animal, bird, creeping thing, and sea creature, is tamed, and has been tamed by mankind; but nobody can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.” (James 3:2-8 WEB)
All of us stumble in many things. There’s no such believer that is always perfect in all his works.
Many times, our mistakes are in the words we speak.
Our spoken words release great power of death and life (Proverbs 18:20-21) and are able to influence our whole body, as well as the direction of our life—hence the picture of our tongue bridling the whole body.
Words spoken by our tongue sow seeds that produce a harvest.
A similar illustration is used by James when he says a small fire spreads to burn down a forest.
The default fleshly mode of our speech patterns is negative, which sows words of death that produce fruits of death in our lives.
This is an evil ploy from Hell (Gehenna), to program humans to speak words of death, resulting in more death being manifested in their lives.
The devil has been working hard at this, programming the language of death in our societal lingo.
For example, people like to say “I’m so sick of this”, “I’m dying to know”, “You scared me to death”, “I’m so dead”, etc.
Man’s tongue is not like animals that can be tamed by training, positive reinforcement, fear and punishment.
The tongue resists all these forms of behavior modification techniques and continues to speak evil.
Thankfully, God has given believers a gift to help us control our tongues to make us perfect and never stumble in words when we’re operating this gift.
This is the gift of praying in tongues.
See Acts 2:3-4 for the tongues of fire that rested upon each disciple on the Day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit was first poured out—this is a picture of the gift of praying in tongues.
When you’re praying in tongues, you’re also releasing a fire, but not one that destroys the good things in your life.
Instead of burning down the forests (trees can be a picture of life) in your life, it burns away bondages, strongholds, anything impure that’s not from God and it also chases away spiritual enemies.
No wonder praying in the spirit (same as praying in tongues) is included in the whole armor of God (Ephesians 6) and is one of the two offensive pieces of that set of armor.
Instead of defiling your body and corrupting the course of your life, the gift of praying in tongues builds up your body, giving you beauty, strength, health and healing.
It also steers your life in the direction that God wants it to go—you’re offering perfect prayers and praise aligned with God’s will.
When you pray in tongues, you’re releasing the power of life to yourself and other people. At the same time, you’re also releasing the power of death to destroy your spiritual enemies and bondages.
Finally there is a way for the tongue to be tamed—not by man, but by the Holy Spirit!

A full 9 minutes progressive body weight routine that can be done anywhere anytime.
Important note: Beginner modification is only for Beginner who just started exercising. If you are not, you should be doing my version and try to keep up with my pace... You will feel the burn! :)
Warming up your body before going all-out is crucial.
I would recommend everyone to spend at least 5-10 minutes doing some dynamic warm up on light to moderate intensity. I would personally go through 1 round of this exercise routine with moderate effort before I start pushing myself hard. Doing the beginner modification routine for 1 round before your actual working set can be a good way to get ready too.
After each round. Pause the video take 2 minutes rest. It's gonna be hard, I know... but hey, this is what melt away the fat like crazy and a build a fitter stronger you!

A 20 minute non-stop muscles and heart rate pumping workout for every intermediate/advanced trainer.
This routine will not only burn stubborn fat but it will also improve your fitness level and muscular endurance. This workout is doable for strong-beginner, all you need to do is follow the modification.
Warming up your body before training is crucial. I would recommend everyone to spend at least 5-10 minutes doing some dynamic warm-up on light to moderate intensity.
I would personally go through 1 round of this exercise routine with slow-moderate effort before I start pushing myself hard. As a warm-up, you can do Round 1 with a slow-moderate pace before you start your actual working pace.
