The Philharmonia Northwest will hold an event: Ilha Formosa (Music of Taiwan) on September 29, at 2:00 PM, at the S. Mark Taper Foundation Auditorium - Benaroya Hall. Over 100 musicians from Taiwan, Canada and the US join together onstage, performing masterworks by Taiwanese composers of past and present.
Philharmonia NW, led by Music Director Julia Tai, is joined by three Taiwanese choirs in a rare performance of Tyzen Hsiao’s Requiem for Formosa’s Martyrs, and soloists Tien-Hsin Cindy Wu (violin), Felix Fan (cello), and Angelo Rondello (piano) perform Gordon Chin’s Triple Concerto.
