Just called Malaysian PM Najib Razak to offer condolences and assistance in the #MH17 crash. It is a terrible tragedy, especially coming after MH370, and we stand in sorrow and solidarity with Malaysia. – LHL
P.S. Have called PM Rutte of the Netherlands to express my condolences too. As several of you pointed out, the flight was code-shared with KLM (as KL4103). 189 of the victims were Dutch. In a country of 16 million, everyone either knows someone on the plane, or knows someone who knows someone. President Barack Obama has said that the aircraft was shot down by a surface-to-air missile from a rebel-held area in East Ukraine. I hope the investigation will establish the cause of the crash soon. – LHL
