As of 16th April 2020, we have helped 192 families and more on the way as we work on our surveys.
This is a Chinese Village in Kuang and the people helped here by Little Yellow Flower and her volunteers are from 5 elderly families. They are mainly singles or staying with only 1 of their kins. Most of them are in their 50s-90s with no income during this MCO. One of them make a living by scavenging for recycled waste to support his living while another is a disabled and with kidney problem patient. We have sent them bags of fresh produce with a top up of rice and eggs from the volunteers.
Along with this Chinese Village, at a nearby school, there were some other families which Little Yellow Flower has reached out to as well.
Family 1:
A family of 6 where the father works as a lorry driver but has lost his income due to MCO and struggling to support his family with children age 7 months – 10 years old. The baby has no milk powder to drink and they do not have a proper meal for the past week. He has owed the house utility bills for a few months and now water is cut. Even his house is empty and the sofa in his living room is taken from a nearby disposal area. The government assistance they received is very little and is used up to purchase some of his children necessities and food.
Our Fund-Raising is still on-going. Let's continue to work hand-in-hand to help them go through this difficult times.
