在只有一方持有軟體的狀況下也能透過分享下載遊玩功能體驗「頭目再戰」內容。玩家可以透過路易吉的新能力「猛擊」吸取幽靈、左右甩動造成傷害，並且攻擊範圍內的幽靈也會受到波及。「吸盤射擊」可以將眼前的障礙物移開外，也可以將幽靈手上的盾牌奪走。當受到眾多幽靈包圍時，可以使用「噴射」從背後噴出大量氣體，將身旁的幽靈震開並造成傷害，也可以進行跳躍躲避地形障礙...
